headlamp covers getting dull

seems like my headlights are starting to dull. I have been waxing but sun is taking its toll. Anyone use a refinishing product or has anyone replaced them?

I've used refinishing products and used polishing compound. I've done it by hand and with a buffer. The results are "ok" for a while, but they revert back fairly quickly.

I put a set of ScotchCal headlight protectors on a new set, and have no problems.

I have the same problem. Will probably just replace them. I'm too lazy for all that sanding/ polishing

ebay has projector headlights for 118 dollers nice lights bought a set make the car stand out real nice with the piaa hyper white bulbs

I figured why put in the same lights everyone else already has, halos. They put out very good light at night toom I was worried about that when going aftermarket

A teaspoon of baking soda in eight ounces of water.Worked for me.

Disolved a teaspoon baking soda in a glass of water and started rubbing.The baking soda works as a mild pumice.It worked on my lenses.

Some waxes will attack the finish on the plastic lens and make them foggy.

So are yours staying clear sonny? That's the problem most people have, they find something to clean em up and a few weeks later they are foggy again. Did you use a smooth cloth to rub with? I think the biggest problem is people BUFF it and get into the finish on the headlights and so they won't stay clear. IF your method removes it without buffing into the finish you might just be a hero to a LOT of f-bods out there

SOFT COTTON CLOTH --I think it was an old teeshirt. still clear after 4 mos.Never put wax or polish on lenses as some of these materials attack the plastic.

dang right, i just replaced mine and put on some of that clear plastic protector crap, 100 bucks for the halos and it isn't like everyoen else's anymore. . .

5 bucks go pick yourself up some plexiglass cleaner and rub it and buff it till the shine comes back. Worked a miracle for me on a headlight I had to get from a junkyard that had been weathered.
