 true story
ok so i was going to work (at my college) one morning. I come off the expressway and reach a light. So i finish my McD's hashbrown and look over in the other lane and i see this old ass guy(had one of those navy veteran hats...no joke at least 70..with one of those little lap dogs ...so i look at him and then go back to waiting for the light to turn green. So right before the light turns green i hear this pacifica start to load up and break torquing :lmao: so by the time i even realize what was going on the light turns green and this :sarge: chirps the tires and goes balls out, out of the light ....so i take off and catch up to him quickly...laughing my ass off when i pass him..he looks across at me and mean muggs me :lmao: i laughed so hard and let him have his glory. :lmao: i thought i would share this one with you guys. next time i see this guy i will gun it out the gate :lmao:

Don't know what it is with minivan drivers, but they all seem to think they're John Force :hahano: (I know the Pacifica isn't technically a minivan, but it IS a minivan). And since the Pacifica now has the 4.0l V6 making 250+HP it probably feels like a top-fueler to its average driver.
I've had so many women driving minivans try to beat me from a light it's unreal.
First happened when I had my Rx7 Turbo.
Sitting at a light minding my own business when I hear an engine revving and straining. It's a girl in a Chrysler minivan powerbraking next to me going to try and beat me before the lanes merge.
Now, my Rx7 wasn't stock and it sure didn't look stock, but I guess she couldn't see the big FMIC from the side :D
Light changes and she chirps the tires. So of course I floored it and destroyed her. When I turn a little further up she flips me off as she goes by.
Then it started happening all the time. I guess a torquey V6 feels fast to soccer moms.
I've only had it happen once since I got my SS. Maybe minivan drivers are more familiar with the capabilities of an F-body. Heard the van revving and threw a LM1 rev back. She left the light nice and slow :naughtywa
I would say good kill, but more like a good, funny kill! :zoom:

I think they honestly believe they have something fast.
My "beater" car (it's actually pretty nice) is a '98.5 Ford Contour SVT.
It has a few minor mods and is good for a low 15 sec 1/4 mile.
I constantly have people comment on how powerful it is when they ride with me.
I'm like, if THIS feels strong, you haven't ridden in a FAST car.
So the 16 second minivan feels like a dragster to them, especially since they are tuned for off the line torque.

I rent Pacificas and they do feel pretty stout, especially with AWD so I could see it giving someone some confidence. A lot of these vans have good low end torque, that first gear from a dig is mean! :burnout:

:rotfl: When my mom got her new Rav4, she was convinced it was fast, and could probably hang w/ my Z28. All because she squealed her tires around a turn. :ughlaugh:

My ex girlfriend (a long time ago) finally got her drivers licence and she wanted to show off to me that she can race and drive blah blah blah and went out and bought herself a car which she called fast. But of course she had to get a Geo Metro lol and really wanted to race me so bad.
Funny thing is she did beat a caviler some dude was driving lol

i beat a cavalier in my 3.0 ranger. i didn't even know we were racing. the light drops, and her tires chirp, so i say "let's go bitch". i give her half pedal, she is pullin me still, then 3/4, then wide open, i down shift from 4 to 3, and, my truck pulls o.k. for what it is, and then walked around her ass when we hit about 55. i flew past her about 70, and was like. BOOOOOOYAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah.... it's entertaining.
I dunno about it being one of the most economical. :thinkin: Then again, I don't think there are all that many SUVs considered economical.. so you're probably right. :ughlaugh:

The 2007 and up RAV4 can be had with a 270hp V6 and is one of the quickest SUVs around.
Excepting SRT Jeeps of course :yup:

That's the old one.
