the 97 lt1 is my buddies and it is fast i leave him by 3 0r 4 lengths from a roll but from a dig i cant keep up with his a4 and et street slicks,but he only gets about a car from a stop
his lt1 camaro has a cam, headers ,exhaust ,air,lt4 intake,msd ignition,spray,and stall

my buddy just got back in from iraq ysterday with the 97 cobra and man i was really suprised from a roll i only pulled about a car and a half on that thing and then we levelled out of course this was all without n0s only me and the lt1 are spraying but i was out of bottle last night

FYI the 97 cobras arent like the terminators of 03-04 it has the same motor 4.6 DOHC but its a N/A and im sure there is a bunch of other little different things here and there.

I know. But they are still strong. I seen a 98 dyno 288 to the rear wheels with minor bolt ons.

Im kinda sad to say but I havent had any good races with my new Z28. Everyone I have raced was pretty much an import.
My toughest race was on the day I got it was a Mazdaspeed Miata. Comes with a factory turbo fun car not much for racing. Missed 2 shifts and only beat him by a car length.

headers , shifter ,exhaust ,ignition, air kit ,and who knows what else he just bought it off ebay but the thing is quick, i spin alot in first with the 4.10 gears but still i usually keep pulling on mustangs and he was a car or two back the whole two races i was suprised

yes i know but my brother has the 04' cobra and stock i could take it without my nos and its supercharged thats why i was suprised the 97 hung like it did with just some bolt on parts to our knowledge

Oh yea the Eaton superchargers arent that great. You can take a mach1 wiht a few bolt ons and it would be about the same as a stock cobra. They both have the same motor cept the cobra has the supercharger.

If any of the other vettes with Twin turbo runs like the one I wasted, You seriously don't need TT. In my 240sx I killed him by a car and half at the 1/8th mile and that was only cause I backed out of the throttle. Guard rail was calling my name! I had 3 on him out of the hole! It either needed a Driver mod or some tuning. MAJOR!! He was only running 8.40's in the 1/8th mile, Around 96MPH.

he definetly didn't know how to drive for shit... a basic kit could easilly get to about 600hp...correctly built motor could poop out way more...

Hmm actually its ALOT deeper. I run open down pipe so its crazy loud but it sounds like a Stock v8 with no cam LOL!!! I hate Fart cans!! I only built the 240 the way I did b/c it was my high school car!! I loved getting sideways in the stock 4cyl LOL.... But now I just lke hanging with the v8's and having some fun! Im shooting for a wheelstand this year out of it. LOL Never seen a 240 do that before. Also shooting for 10's in the 1/4

I'm hoping mid-March things will warm back up. Cold roads + cold tires = wheelspin. I can't tell you how many times when I go to work in the morning where I take a clover leaf doing 30 and have to merge onto an interstate where people are doing 65+ and she shifts down into 2nd and gets all loosey-goosey. It's fun but it sucks because I really want to pick up the pace quickly and all she wants to do is spin!

Anyway, those C5 Z's are a helluva bargain! They are getting more affordable every day and they are among the best sports car platforms available. I was talking to my woman about maybe trading up for one but she knows I really want the C6Z and reminded me it would be easier to save up for one without a car payment. The C5Z is very tempting though!

Its doesn't exactly sound like a v8 in higher rpm's but when cruising in lower rpm on the street it does. Besides Im not trying to be a v8 If I wanted that I would have just stuck one in. But I can make as much power!

Legislation is killing the kill section. These days they'll confiscate your car in some places, others it's a court date and brutal fine. It's just not the good ol' boy game that it used to be. Some sites have removed the kill section entirely.

Just give it up, you're a lost cause. First you say it sounds just like a V8, now you're retracting your statement because everyone heard the sound clip and it sounds like complete crap. It doesn't sound like a V8 under and circumstances, it sounds like a ricer.

In order to get away with that anymore you would have to live in a small town and be buddies with the cops. Plus with as fast as news travels these days if an unfortunate accident happens in some random town then all of the sudden you will see special reports on Dateline, etc. about the evil street racers. Then the politicians do their thing. It is best kept on the track though, it's just that the jerks you find on the roads never go.

I can appreciate both sides of the coin.
