Well then I suppose you have the answer to your question
I really don't see why it would be different.....basically the same body isn't it??

The difference in the tanks is dependant on the year.
98's had a 15.5 gallon steel tank. 99' and up had 16.8 plastic tanks.
So maybe you got some parts for the wrong year car.

lil off question but if 99+ is 16.8 tanks would it be around 17.0+ filled to the cap? or is that how its allready is?
caseu i got a 25 gallon on truck and was on dead E and went to station and got 25.5 almost months ago. i never forgot that

running a tank that empty will lead to a dead fuel pump. Todays electric pumps use the gas to cool them. If you keep running it that low the pump will fail prematurely from the heat.

In these trying times you can always just water down your gas ;) A few stations around here do that themselves me think.
