dirty fluid?

Ok my racing transmission from Transperformance Transmissions has about 3000 miles on it id say. And im starting to have problems with the 2-3 shift like before my old trans blew. My fluid looks dirty, so im changing it tommarow. My question is, can dirty fluid cause this? I hope my trans isnt going bad becuase i would be VERY pissed.

Dirty fluild in 3000 miles is not a good thing , Dirty fluild would not cause the issue but rather is a symptom of the probelm , Look to see whats in the pan when you change it,:(

Define dirty? Is it dark or brown and smell bad, it could be burnt. Are you runing a large enough aux cooler with good airflow?

ok so i found out it wasnt really dirty, the lighting in the parking lot made it appear brownish, i drained out some and its clean, i added some clean fluid. Now i think i found a problem, when i check my level i drive around my area for like 10 mins and get it to operating level. But i found out tonight which might have been my problem to begin with that if im out in town and driving for like 30 or 40 mins i have too much fluid. I sucked some out today but it was still to high tonight. So im going to suck more out tommarow. with my shitty pump which takes forever haha.. Could this be why im having problems shifting? i though it was my damn diablo tune but ive tried so many differnet shift point and it hasnt helped.

o yeah and my drain plug was fucked up to being with becuase the dumbass who built my trans used a old beat up truck pan. i got the plug out but now that its back in there no way to get it out with dropping the damn pan... err im going to have to buy a nice pan!

It would have to be well over a quart, to cause any problems. If you drop the pan, and you can write your name in the bottom of the pan, you are looking at clutch and/or band material, and this is not a good sign. The transmission will have to be gone back into.
