Does anybody know where I can find directions to do this? I've been looking and I can't find what I need  I was just going to take it in but they want to charge $65 and if I can find out how to do it I'll save some money :woo:

Well if you don't re-fill it properly you WILL mess it up

Yeah, there are a lot of air-bubbles that come up after running it. Make sure to re-top it off several times. Not to mention mixing it right, pre-mix shit is crap. I got this turkey baster dealy with an arrow thing inside that floats and says what level you got mixed to obtain optimal mixture. Great buy.
On a side note, don't fourth gen f-bods all come with that lifetime anti-freeze. The nasty orange shit.

yeah the dex cool, mine is just extremely dirty and it's low so i want to replace it. I just got the car so I don't know what the previous owners did to it.
Any tips/suggestions on how to properly flush the radiator and refill the coolant?

READ the install documents in installuniversity.com
You will see how to replace a thermostat in the cooling system section.
To replace a thermostat it's necessary to re-fill the system.
Instructions are there!!

When coolant is regularly drained and the system refilled with the correct antifreeze/water mixture, there should be no need to use chemical cleaners or descalers. Also never mix green colored ethylene glycol anti-freeze and orange colored DEX-COOL.

right well I just got the car so I don't know when the previous owner changed the fluids on the car. But I do know that the coolant now is low and seems to be dirty, it looks more brown than orange, and it's kinda gunky.. if that makes sense :ughlaugh:
So I figure I'll just change it out now, I have some radiator flush and a bottle of dex cool. Gonna flush it tomorrow sense it's getting late now

They call DexCool life-time stuff, but you're supposed to change it after 100,00 miles or 5 years. For some reason the stuff evaporates, and leaves a brown, paste-like residue in the over-flow/surge tank. So the level should be checked at every service, and topped-off.
