Keyless entry got wet. Alarm left on...

Ok, I know the moment I unlock the door via key and not the electric signal, the god damn alarm is going to go off.

How do I turn it off besides unhooking the battery?

When you unlock the door with the key and alarm is armed, it gives you a few seconds to get the key in the ignition before going off - think it's like 7 or 8 seconds?

My shit goes off the moment the door opens...Thats not normal?

7-8 seconds would be plenty of time for someone to break ina car and steal a radar detector and CDs, so Id say its normal.

Hmmm...my owners manual says "From the outside, use your door key. If your vehicle has the content theft-deterrent system and it is armed, unlocking and opening the door this way will set off the alarm after 8 seconds unless the ignition key is inserted into the ignition."

I have the same exact problem, as soon as I open the door...pisses me off. Anyone know a solution to this?

Well at least I know that putting the key into the ignition turns off the alarm. This white trash woman next door had her zebra kids playing in the street and a football hit my car.

Naturally, the alarm starting going off, so I tried putting my key in the ignition and wha-la! Its off.

But if I use the electric door locks when I leave, the alarm will get set and well, here we go again.
