like it says... ima go on a 3000 mile trip..and ive been thinking of rebuilding the tranny(80,000) any recommendations on beefing it up and driveable

My bud rebuilt mine for $460. That was with all new steels and clutches and stock T/C. No labor in that price. For less than a G, you should be able to get it finished thru any shop depending on if there is anything wrong once the case is opened.

Rebuilt at 124k miles, runs like a champ, mine is a daily driver with just a few bolt-ons.
