I have a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. It's a 6spd vert. So far I've done

-Pacesetter Long-Tube Headers
-Off Road Y-Pipe
-Clear Intake Lid
-K&N Filter
-Throttle Body Bypass Mod
-MSD Wires
-Bosch Platinum +4 Plugs
-Fast Toys Ram Air
-Stainless Air Dam
-Custom Tune

I know I keep getting closer and closer to H/C time and I can't wait! I also have lower control arms and subframe connectors.

What's next? Brakes, more power?

4.10s, I love the idea! How much and how hard are they to install usually?

As for the cam... I prefer doing the Heads and Cam at the same time. I may do a nice nitrous set up. I don't know yet. I know the cam needs to be set up for my power adder if one is used. I need to decide what route I want to use. I like the idea of a roots style supercharger too. That's too expensive though, especially for now, but not for later. When I graduate I want something nasty. Nitrous is the ultimate sleeper setup as long as you keep your hood closed and that's what I like about it. The cam may be the only thing to spoil the sleeper sound.

Don't waste your money on a gear swap,(its like putting a band aide on a jugular wound) Buy a new 9", new torque arm, subframe connectors, lower control arms, panhard bar, and then get a cam!! :yup:

Why? the 10 bolt is a piece of shit. Start adding hp mods and you can soon kiss your $600 you spent on a gear swap goodbye, and be looking for the new 9" anyway.

I didn't mention I've already got tubular lower control arms and subframe connectors and I also recently installed a prothane transmission mount which actually made a difference in the feel. 2 new nittos are getting installed today too and yes the 555s. That made sense about the 9" rear. How much are those with the posi?

There are many different options. They will all come with some sort of posi. The one I bought is about as stout as you can buy.

I just bought mine with Moser case and 35 spline axles, Detroit Locker, Strange Pro nodular case, Motive 4.30 gears, set up for 4 channel with exciter rings installed shipped to my door for $2550. Should be about bullet proof and can handle well over 800 hp.

I assume your manual with those 4.30. How do you like them? What kind of rpms @ 70mph? Thanks

on a six speed, not a good idea for a stock rear end.

I did this and I'm starting to wonder if it was the right thing. So far so good I love the increased acceleration but I know that POS 10 bolt is a ticking time bomb. If I had it do all over again I may have just ponied up the extra cash and got a 9in.

The only thing I'm scared of with nitrous is the sudden hit. I'd like to actually get used to the power so I won't have to worry about getting used to it only when racing. Don't they have setups where as long as its wide open throttle it sprays and other wise not? I don't want to have to hit any buttons and all that shit when I'm racing hahaha I'm concentrating enough as it is hahaha. I'd want mine to engage during 2nd gear wot and 3rd>4th>5th>and 6th. I don't want it in 1st because that would be nuts!:zoom: If I could get it set up exactly how I want it maybe I'd give it a shot! I already know I'd have to build the engine to handle the 150 shot but if I'm going through all that why not be a little more braver than the average joe and build the engine for a 200 to 250hp shot? By the way I'd like the setup for the spray to be 90-100% unseen even if I pop the hood. We'll see... Right now I'm researching. I also like the idea of the roots style magna charger. I want quite a bit more power so I can hang with the big boys in my neighborhood.

And Randy I've been thinking about doing a cutout. I'm waiting and being patient. I kinda want to do it now but it'd be a waste if I'm doing gmmg. but I may add it to the gmmg later on

Did you do a shifter yet? They make shifting much more fun. pro 5.0 gets my recommendation. Shocks too if you didn't do them yet.

Eeeeeek, drag radials installed with a stock rearend? That just makes me squirm. Thats a recipe for disaster in the making. Next modification and the first one I recommend for any 4th gen is a rearend. Even stock power levels will scatter that thing if you try.
Do what you preffer,,,,9 inch or 12 bolt,,,check around at the different manufactures for bolt in applications and pick what you like. I personally use Strange and have been very happy with quality.

I've still got the stock hurst that came in it but I've made some changes to that. I've got the ws6store 6.5in stick which is very nice. I've also got the white hurst shift ball. It feels better in my hand. Otherwise I believe I'm happy with my shifter. I think its unnecessary to change any more than that on it as far as I know. the factory hurst shift stick has rubber bushings in it which can cause missed shifts but my ws6store one is all metal to metal and very firm. I haven't done shocks btw. I'm thinking of lowering my car so I'll probably do all that at the same time. my very next suspension mod will probably be a torque arm.

nope not drag radials... I've got the street version. I really do want a rear end too. I want a 12 bolt simply because I don't want ford parts on my car:). Are they really hard to install?

basically to me it looks like I need to do some preventative mods for my future mods;) sounds good and I'll be saving money in the process.

Okay I am clear now. I prefer the 12 bolt as well on my installs. I use Strange exclusively. I tried Moser in the past but they had housing issues and could never get a gearset quiet on the 12 bolts.

After switching to Strange I haven't had a noisy gearset yet. And I use Richmond gears as well. Actually if you talk to Strange they don't like a 9 inch for the 4th gens,,,,they believe there are issues with torque arms, since the 9 inch wasn't designed for that application,,,they don't believe welding TQ arm brackets on are a good solution for various reasons,,,,checking their website and giving them a call would be best, as they can go into great detail that I cannot do here.

That doesn't mean they don't work,,,many people use them in a torque arm application with success. It just depends on what you really want.
But I can tell you if you want the 12 bolt the Strange housing is a better piece than the Moser. Hope that helps.

thank homie

so does it matter if I get an adj. torque arm and install it now or later?
