I have a few mods to my 02 WS6 auto and i have been told to put in a stall. I am not very fimilar with them. Can someone please explain exactly what it will do for the car and how it works. Also what kind of stall would you reccomend?

When they say stall its refering to a stall converter or torque converter. Every automatic has one but at a small stall.
It hooks to the part of the transsmission and what it does basicly does is let you launch your car at a higher RPM. If you have a stock rear end I wouldnt get anything to big, I IMHO i wouldnt get one any bigger then 3200 which lets you launch out of 3,200RPMs.
I hope that makes sence and helps you

Fuddle :yup:
It's a must for an auto car if you want to run at the track, FYI.

Never experienced a yank, heard they're great. I have had experience with vigilante 4000 and a fuddle 3200 and no complaints!

A Stall is one of the best first mod for an A4. I run a vig 3200.

misinformation.
the rear end is not going to blow because a stall is too big.

I have Yank SY 4000 and it's been in the car for about 75000 miles with no problems. They are a little more spendy, but well worth it in my book. A stall can knock off .5 tenths in the 1/4, and help on hiway rolls too. Best first major mod you can do for an A4.

Yea but it does help it break. Lauching it too hard, suddenly pushing all the power all at one on the rear like that does speed up the time for the rear's death

the stall itself will not break a rear end.
sticky tires on the other hand will.

Yea I get what your saying but still stalls could help break em...

ive had a stall going on 4 years now and all is fine.
im also running decently sticky tires and making 380 to the rear.
even without a stall, just beating on it will can snap the rear.
A4 cars dont break rear as much as six speeds.

I run a 3400 fuddle converter with a b&m super cooler and love it. 675 for the converter and like 75 for the cooler. Installation cost could vary, but I did mine myself.

do you need a trans cooler?
yes. even if your stock you should have a tranny cooler. the biggest killer of auto trans is heat.

sticky tires and hard launches are not kinda on stock rears.
also alot of clutches are burned up with hard driving.

a stall converter is the best mod you can do to an automatic ls1 car. you can easily shave off .5 tenths at the track and still have that stock trans feel.
i have a tci streetfighter 3000 stall and love it.

Put a trannie cooler on....cheap .....
Basically at WOT a stall will eliminate you falling below the stall speed....in other words when you romp it your engine is going to stay at or above 3200 rpm if you have a 3200 stall in it. Stalls do not eat rear ends. Sticky tires eat rear ends :)
Trannie cooler is a must.....

Yank 3600 here... Very good quality stall, pricey but worth it. Apparently, Yank feels a little tighter than other brands, so you get more of a stock feel.

Stalls also eat hp and usually lower trap speed, but if 1/4 is in your mind get one. I do have a question though, if theyre better from a role why does is usually lower thee trap speed which usually directly affects how a car does from a role, do you guys know it helps you or does it just feel like it?
