I have a 2003 Silverado 1500HD 4x4 with a 6.0, auto, and 3.73's. Currently it is stock, with the exception of a drop in K&N filter. What mods work well to increase fule mileage and towing performance? I was thinking about getting a Hypertech, but I keep hearing people talk about removing "torque management" from the computer. Who does this and what will it help?
I pull a 24ft Vnose enclosed full of quads to the dunes, and the truck pulls it just fine, but a little extra power would be nice, and 8mpg sucks. I also drive the truck unloaded quite a bit, so I don't want a "tow only" tune.

a diablosport tuner and some shorty headers. a CAI and catback would do some justice

ps-welcome to the board:wave:
You want milage, soooo easy...I hope you paid off your CC
Go with a brute air intake
BBK 80mm throttle body, but get a 1mm gasket to put behind it...They made a misdrilled the idle air hole.
JBA SS Shorty headers
Gibson Catback
Bosche +4 Sparkplugs
Moroso 9.75" ultra 40 wires
Harrop Roller Rocker arms 1.7
Sun Auto Hypervoltage
HKS Earthing Kit
Do a catchcan for the oil from the valve covers
and get the bags for your rear springs...
I have the same set up with even 1.8 rocker-arms on my tahoe and wow.
Milage will go up and you will have more bottom end torque.
And PLEASE stay away from the generic tuners, they just flood your system with extra fuel...Get a proper tune, your A/f ratio will love you for it...

I Don't Know About The Diablo Part, I Have One On My Suburban It Work A Little Bit But No As I Wish It Would Of... I Had To Get It To A Tuner To Move Around On The Diablo Because When It Was Just Down Loaded In There It Seem That Is Slowed It Down On The Takeoff... But I Did Much Better With The Dyno And Tune... 230hp 282tq.. 5.3l 02sub...
