It seems..that every time i turn a corner with SMALL bumps or sometimes no bumps at all i hear this loud pop noise coming from the back of the car. when im going straight and level (even if i get on it)..everything is fine...only when i turn...any idea to what this is? The only thing I can think of is rear end

Alright..now that ive asked that...I have another question...IF i had to get a new rear end..would another Auburn G80 diff with 3.73's be a good choice?

You just probally need to get you some GM limited slip fluid and put it in the rearend. If you've never changed the rearend fluid before it might be a good time. No sense putting new antislip in on top of old rear end fluid. After you put it in make some tight circles with the car. No not no donuts just easy tight clockwise for a couple of times and then counterclockwise a couple. This will usually get everything back to snuff and it shouldn't pop no more.

is it definitely coming from the rear end? My LCA's popped when I had my sub-frames put in because the guy didn't torque them down enough. They also popped going over bumps too. It sounded more like something popping the underside of the body though and not the rear end.

what exactly would the SFC's do in this case to make this "popping noise" ?

it sounds like someone is taking a fist with a rock in their hand and just punching the underside of my car everytime i make the turn

Have you had any work done that would've required the lower control arms to be taken off or loosened? It's hard to diagnose this stuff without actually being there and hearing it but your description makes it sound like a LCA popping.
They they put SFC's on they have to drop the LCA so they can put the connector on then the LCA goes back on. When the guy done mine he didn't tighten it down enough and it was popping. In the general forum I have a torque sheet stickied. I *think* those were around 90 ft/lbs.

so the nut and bolt that goes towards the back wheel (on the weld ons)...have to be torqued?...thats right becasue they are lock nuts

The front bolts of the LCA's pass through the sfc's. Those are what were loose on mine.

I have the same issue, but I found out that the drivestaft is hitting against my exhaust...

I had the exact same noise and after tightening and replacing my entire rear $uspension, I decided to take a chance and change my rear diff (auburn!) oil...my nice car sounded like crap when I would turn slowley or even back up, it made me feel like my car was junk! :o

Worst case you change out your oil and for about $50 its a pretty cheap chance to fix it, I did and am happier than a pig in crap! :)
