I was just curious what the "upgraded suspension" on the WS6 actually is compared to a regular T/A. Is it possible to save the few thousand dollars difference and upgrade the suspension the same or better than the WS6 on your own?

no i mean WHAT is it.. i realize that you would have to buy it.. the question was what does the ws6 suspension consist of... how is it better than a regular t/a.. maybe i wasn't clear.. but that's what i meant

lol i realize that ... ok here lemme rephrase the question...

what exactly did they do to upgrade the suspension on the WS6, compared to the T/A.

don't say they made it better, lol i realize that.. what i mean is what specific parts did they upgrade? The reason i'm asking is so if i get a regular T/A, i will know how to upgrade the suspension, that's basically the point of the question. does anybody know? sorry for all the confusion :brick:

Hood, rims, stiffer suspension.
I don't know what the exact name of the shocks are, (Bilsteins I think) but they are stiffer. Honestly there isn't much of a difference. I think the springs might be different as well.

Any way It is all stuff you can buy on your own. Once you install it you can tell every one you saved about $1,500 and you now have a WS7.

WS7 is the name the guys call a trans am they upgraded them selves.

I know I'm still not giving you the names you want but here is what the sales brochure (spelling) says word for word.

"WS6 Performance and Handling Package:Includes Ram Air Induction System, specifically tuned suspension, dual outlet polished exhaust, power steering cooler, specific 17" aluminum high-polished wheels(QB6), and P275/40ZR17 Goodyear Eagle F1 speed-rated tires (limited exterior color availability)"

Word for word. Hope this helps a little.

Also the Autos have a 3.23 rearend instead of the 2.73. Manuals have the same gearing.

lol that cool emblem isn't worth the extra thousands to me :) only thing i really care about is the hood... unless i can get a good deal on one

the cool little emblem isnt cheap :snowboard:

anyway, if your just want the hood, I would still go with the WS6, its hard to get the paint to match exactly and the price between WS6 and regular TA isn't likely to be that big.

Ram Air hood
WS6 lower air box
32mm front sway bar
1LE springs (for '98, '99, and some '00s)
WS6 badging & Ram Air decals
Lower restriction catback
17" high polished wheels w/ 275/40/ZR17 tires
Jounce spacers for 17X9" wheels
Power steering cooler

Also, 3.23 performance axle is on every WS6 I've ever seen, but it is listed as a separate cost option ($300) on the window sticker.

it keeps your ps fluid cooler than if u just had a regular t/a...didn't you know that's why everyone opted for a ws6??? lol

right but how does that affect anything?

It keeps the fluid cooler and in turn keeping your ps pump from overheating and not working corectly, mainly this is for autox but it helps keep your fluid from breaking down.

get a nor t/a and make it in to a ws-7 ull save movey on insurance im only 18 but i pay 290 for my t/a if it was a ws6 it would be over 350... that alown is why i didnt get a ws6.. and the ws6 has stage 2 shocks same springs and sway bars on firebirds i have the v6 shock& sprins.. then with a norm t/a u get v8 shocks and springs on a ws6 u get the stage 2.. not a big diffrence if the car has over 60 k on it u probly wont feel a diffrence form v8 to stage 2 .. btw ther all made by the same people ther all yello and blue form v6- firehawk

Thermal expansion in the fluid due to friction----> coolers are good, 'specially for the beach.
