Does anyone know if you have to pull the axles to replace rear wheel bearings??? I was just checking it out the other day, and after the wheel, rotor, and caliper are off the e-brake shit is in the way. I didn't actually take the e-brake stuff off, but It doesn't look like I'll be able to swap em out even if I did? Also, if I do have to remove the axles (which I think is inevitable), would it be worth getting a new diff and/or gears? (Car has 74,000 miles) And since I really don't have any experience with a rear, would it be worth taking it to a shop? (although I REALLY like to do stuff myself!!!) Thanks!

Axles are gonna have to come out. As far as new differential that's gonna depend on what the usage is gonna be. Gear replacement is best left to someone that knows what they are doing.

Kind of figured but just thought I'd ask. Thanks! And my usage is pretty much a DD with Bolt ons (no headers) and free mods, and I am planning to do a cam swap, head work, and long tubes in about a year.

If I decide to just replace the wheel bearings, I just have to take off the diff cover and remove the c-clip to get the exles to come out right? Any special tools needed? And is there anything else I might need/ want to do while I'm in there?
