It can handle 1200awhp when built right. I have seen 850awhp GTRs run high 8s and go 0-200 in 10.7 seconds. So when they are built right they can be insane.

Lol, no it isnt out yet, but look at what the older designs can do, this is the sdame basic design. Just new still an inline 6 twin turbo and nissan makes great inline 6 twin turbos, they make tons of torque. And no GT500 is running 9s with a stock supercharger. The tranny isnt built to handle 900+rwhp nor is the rear end, if you think that your a fool, it might be able to do it a couple times, maybe but it wont last. I dont know why you cant admit that nissan makes some good cars, the old GT-R was insane when modded properly. BTW that high 8 second GTR 34 i was talking about was very drivable at only 850awhp on high boost and just over 600 with the controller off. Ill admint the ford 5.4liter supercharged is a good engine but you gotta give credit where it is due that nissan inline 6 can put up some impressive numbers. I also think both cars are ugly

It's not going to be a inline six it's a 3.8L V6 twin turbo 475hp dual clucth like VW transmistions. It went around the Nuremburg track in Germany faster than a Z06. Not bad for a garbage car. If your looking for the most reliable car then get a Lexus if you are looking to go fast cheap get a Ls1.

You trying to tell me the ls1 isnt reliable, i ahve seen ones with 130,000miles on them make over 300rwhp bone stock. The keep there power forever.That car also doesnt compare to a z06, 505hp, well the nissan has only 50 or so less right well, the ls7s powerband is insane, aswell as the fact the corvette is lighter. The new vette has the ls9 a 653hp enigne. Nissan can take there 450hp and shove it after the vette comes out and will only cost 20k more. Also inline 6 twin turbos are far more bullet proof than the v6s and if they did go to a v6 there retarded.

I agree on the inline 6 rumble is badass. Also 2.8 thats a little out of control, they are thinking 3.8-4.0. Also the old skylines werent that fast. They only ran mid to high 13s stock, yes you could add some things here and there and make them 12 second cars. Then add alot of stuff and they can be insane. But for the price tag of 57k for the 2000 GTR 34 and then the 20k price tag to ship it here 80k for a mid to high 13 second car there are better buys. Such as your lighter 240 with the skyline motor. Taking the best of the Nissan world light weight car, inline 6 turbo power. And rear wheel drive the fastest way to get a car down the track. If you have big enough tires to make it hook lol.

I know it s a v6 not a inline in my other posts i said too bad its not a inline. Well you think its not, i ahve seen 800rwhp m3s that have a stock seeming idle, also i have seen supras that a very drivable. The only non streetable part is the wont start in cold weather but noone drives these cars in cold weather, my supra at 517rwhp felt no different then it did with 300rwhp until you hit it. I wasnt even close to putting out the 850rwhp i could have with that turbo.

How many US made engines run individual internal oil squirter's on each cylinder to squirt oil on the cylinder walls to provide extra lube for high RPM runs for long periods of time? Hmm Im thinking none. Or How many US engines have a cage built around the main bearing caps to keep the crank from moving under high stress/RPM and loads of power.

Thats just two pointers I found in my Rb when I built it that I liked most, The engine was manufactured to take loads of abuse stress and power. Oh and RB stands for Race bred b/c Nissan originally was going to use the motor for racing only then later decided to manufacture it for the Skylines.

So how bad are the engines now wesman?

Talk about making up numbers. Its a heavy car with 436HP. Not WHEEL HP, HP at the flywheel, BIG difference. The car is expected to do 0-60 somewhere in the high 3 second range, you're a full second off.

A Cobalt SS has oil squirters on the pistons. The LS motors have 6 main bearing caps to keep the crank in place. In cast iron application, it supports up to 2500HP. And before you start with the bullshit, no, your crappy Jap engine would not take 2500HP, it would grenade into a million pieces. So your arguement is a joke, give it up already. Actually the Corvette is GMs car to compete with porshes and exotic sports cars. You will see the vette compared to other countrys super cars often. Not many cars made by any company can compete with a 11.5 bone stock 1/4mile time. Not the Lambos with the 200k-700k price tags they all run 11s, and you can buy a vette and make it a 8 second car for what a lambo costs. The porshe are also 100k+ and now they have the ls9 a 110k sports car that comes with more power than almost any car from the factory. The SLR mcclaren have 660hp, but it also costs over 800k and you have to be on a waiting list. No car under 300k comes with more than 650hp but the ls9 vette. I can see you saying dont compare the ls1 to the exotica cars, even though i have taken some austin martins and masaratis, if thats how its spelled. Just because they are made by a certain company doesnt mean they arent made to compete with other countrys. I say we just the cars in classes with cars they can compete with. THe vette has kept up with them all.

Ya I dont think I would ever spend 13,000 on a stock 4cyl. Unless your refering to a Evo, WRX, STI, Talon, or something like that. Then I can see 13,000 + more like 20 + for them tho. But there good cars. The talon with just cranking the boost stock everything will out run a GT stang, with a few mods, like exhaust and stuff, Stock camaro ETC.

If you put 8 thousand into a Talon, you would have an 8 sec car!!!!!! with over 750 AWHP
There prob one of the cheapest cars you can buy and work on.

But no way will you get an 8 sec car with 8 grand out of an STI.

But with 8 Grand you can get over 325 hp out of most any car. Import or Domestic.

But in all reality its getting re-diculious to try and build any car for the street. The way Gas is going back up and the prices of parts going up too, Your almost cheaper paying the Dealer price and leaving it alone until they come out with something faster and then trading it in.

They are alright cars, you need to know how to set them up for the most performance, they are called dyno queens because stupid people set them up for max hp but no power curve, so they make 900rwhp and run high 11s, because the make 900rwhp for about 1200rpms. When i have seen 670rwhp supras run 9.8s. Not to mention they are alot smaller than my T/A but weigh 3800lbs.

Alright you wanna talk about engines, My Rb25det engine has more technology in it than any US motors I have ever took apart.

How many US made engines run individual internal oil squirter's on each cylinder to squirt oil on the cylinder walls to provide extra lube for high RPM runs for long periods of time? Hmm Im thinking none. Or How many US engines have a cage built around the main bearing caps to keep the crank from moving under high stress/RPM and loads of power.

Thats just two pointers I found in my Rb when I built it that I liked most, The engine was manufactured to take loads of abuse stress and power. Oh and RB stands for Race bred b/c Nissan originally was going to use the motor for racing only then later decided to manufacture it for the Skylines.

Not saying GM doesnt make a car that will, Just stating from the factory with No add on's the Skyline will take all GM cars except the vette, But with a few bolt on-s / boost controller the skyline could be a 10 sec car too. All cars from factory only run a 1/4 of the power they can make and handle due to Emissions and life. Plus your not going to see a 700HP factory produced drag car roll off the car lots doesnt mean there not capable of producing that but Your going to have cars that are family driveable and still fun.

All im saying is you can't compair it to an american muscle car b/c thats like comparing a mini van to a SUV. Just not the same.

Now if you put it in the AWD catagory with the porshe 911, then you have a comparison. But not with a Corvette, Camaro, charger or mustang.

He has a 240sx with a built skyline motor in it. So that is very possible, i ahve seen built skylines do 0-200 in under 11 seconds. It was amazing, ran the 1/4mile in about 8.5

Cars original weight is 2800lbs, but since I have added a few things with me included Im guessing its around 3100lbs total, I did the online calculator of HP based on E:T time and car weight and it shows:

They basically lied to me about the engine so after the year it took me to install it in the car and get the wiring done I was able to fire it to find out the head gasket was blown. So then I spent 1,000$ re-doing the head with new valves,springs, retainers, and seals, ported, polished. Then after re-installing the head encountered alot of blow bye out of the valve cover every time I hit boost it blew my dip stick out. So pulled the motor tore it down to find #1 piston busted between #1 & #2 rings, With a skyline they dont make STD pistons only oversized. So 15,000$ later I have a forged crank, Eagle rods,.020 Weisco pistons, Balanced assembly, ARP head studs, Cometic head gasket, Block was bored, honed, decked, cleaned, and dipped in coating to keep the heat down. Engine will hold well over 750HP.

I built the car myself basically from ground up. When I got it, it was crashed on the front end.

As the car sets I have 24grand in it.

If I had it to do over I would have went with an LSX aluminum block but I was too deep in this project to turn around.

I'm glas theres someone else who sees the GT-R for what it really is. An overpriced, overhyped, turbocharged 350Z.

Probablly 24k on a insanely clean completely built car, a that weighs 300lbs and can easily hold 800hp, which means it has the potential to be a low 9 second car. But i do think they fucked up with the new skyline, that v motor with that much weigh. Just gay

Ya it was not in the perfect shape when I got it!!! Needed a little TLC just like any other engine thats been through Hell and back.....

I dont know who had this engine before I did nor do I care now. Its clean and built, Fresh, It runs great too!!!

With the turbo upgrade I could break into the 9's easy, Im getting the rollcage put in over the winter so I can get the car passed in NHRA tech.

I dont know how far im going to push this project, Goal was to make it a fast street car, Which has been done but since a few guys keep riding me its pushing me towards an all out Drag only. If that be the case all put a GT45 turbo, and push 30PSI and make it an 8 sec car.

But im looking into buying a NOVA, Chevelle, or Vega to make an all out drag car, Just do to I wanna keep my 240 legal as possible. That way I can Whoop the shit out of some people like (wesman) who like to talk. Ya buddy im old school too!!!!

The concept of that show is cool, but the host is just WTF. there is a terminator and a mach 1 that runs 7.80-8.00 but thats the only two i could think of. I would probably be around 8.40's with drag radials maybe a little better my last time there was 8.74 at 88mph. lots of traction problems that night lol.

Price aside, Pride aside. This car will be a nice additive to the roadways. It will bring another fast car with high performance and a refined look to the streets and make the automotive scene a bit more exciting. So, me personally, I am all for it.
