I'm searching threads to find out more info but I'm not having much luck finding if an older 4L60E can bolt into a '95 car ? I'm curious if there are any ODBI / II differences.

it's a truck transmission so I think the tailshaft has to be swapped over which shouldn't be a big deal , I have a dead '95 4l60e for parts...

any ideas?

TIA!

(I know it's LT1 ;) but there aren't many good LT1 boards around...)

The main difference that I know of is that the 95 is controlled by the pcm(no detent cable) and the 90 I believe is controlled by a detent cable. Because of that, I am not sure how well it would work with your bird.

They are not the same tranny. 1990 is the non electric 700r4 which can be made to work but kinda defeats the purpose. The other problem is the 4x4 tranny output shaft is totally different and will have to be swapped. To do that you have to disassemble the tranny, which means you should really go through it properly. By this time you have basically done the rebuild you should have already done on your originally 4l60e.
