*UPDATED*
So my SES light came on. I went down to my local Autozone to use their OBDII reader and the code I got was the P1416 Auxiliary Emission Controls. Anybody know where I can get more specific info on what part needs to be fixed/replaced or anybody with experiece on this particular code. If its something easy, I would preferably want to fix this myself instead of bringing this into the dealership and get charged an arm and a leg. Thanks!

Are you sure it's P1418? Reason I'm asking is because when I looked it up at obdii.com it comes up as a J-body code for secondary air system, and nothing for the F-body. Secondary air codes aren't critical, but you need the exact code to fix the problem. Maybe it was P0418?

whoops.. i made a mistake.. it was P1416
BTW, I have a 2000 Formula
i looked up the site and it says.
P1416 Secondary Air Injection [AIR] System Bank
P1416 AIR System Bank
P1416 Secondary Air Injection [AIR] System Bank
P1416 AIR System Bank
P1416 AIR System Bank
Does something need to be replaced? I can provide more info if it would help diagnose the problem. Thanks!

Cool - hoping it was a typo or something. Easy fix, posted about this before:

Forgot to mention earlier - you don't need to go back to AZ to clear the code or reset the PCM after you replace it, SES will clear after 3 consecutive starts without a failure, but it will be stored in the PCM as a "history" code for 40 cycles.

you posted the part number in the other thread
"VALVE, SECD AIR INJN CHK" GM 12565503."
Does kragens, autozone, or pepboys carry that part or do I have to go to the dealership? is there a generic part thats the same?
I found this searching online
ACDELCO Part # 2141045
Category: Air Check Valve {#12565503}
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/catalog.php?catalog=321&partnum=2141045&a=FR321-2141045
it references the GM part number also but is it the same or should I stick with OEM?
thanks

Yeah, you can pick one up at a local parts store - friend of mine got his at NAPA. I posted the GM PN/description so if the store doesn't understand what part it is they can cross reference it. The PN is the same for either side too.
