the other day i was in a local fairly good size town....
this nice orange charger r/t the hemi gets up beside me 22's on it...didnt look bad really....we was just cruising....then of course a red light comes...
we both easied into it...then i got on it a little then he nailed, then it was on..i took off i hit about 110 he was ever so slowly pulling away..he had .5 a car on me....
110 in a 40 (never bad)
i didnt expect to win them hemi's have some balls..
hung with him better than i thought

Wait.... so the Charger won?? From what I've heard, only the SRT-8's can hang with a mosty stock LS1, and the R/T's pretty much don't stand a chance.... I could be wrong here but thats what I've been hearing.

it had to be an SRT-8 or a modded R/T, my folks have a 300C hemi (same thing as R/T charger) they're 340-350hp and theres no way it could hang with a stock LS1, i mean its quick and all for weighing 4500lbs or whatever it is but not that quick, SRT-8 is another story

Don't forget about the aftermarket. There is infact a small market for the hemi-powered cars to pick up a little xtra oomph! But stock for stock, no way an R/T could run with an LS1.

T/A's are around 3400lbs. . . . the R/T will run about a second slower than a stock ls1 and a SRT-8 will run almost identical times as an ls1(425hp 420 ft/lbs.)

was it a daytona or they have the super bee srt's that look about the same, or he just could have been modded pretty good i guess, i've heard headers and intake wake the hemis up pretty good

a charger R/T is not beating an ls1 stock for stock....when i was stock(2000 A4 WS6) i let one get the jump on me and still walked him by 2-3 cars and still pulling

Especially with 22s. Should have been a definitive kill. Something wrong w/ your car?

i dunno it hasnt been acting right.
ive been bouncing off the rev limiter ever since ive ran 93 and the k&n filter...
but in that certain race i didnt bounce off the rev limiter...i slowly got in it and it didnt kicke down as hard.that could've been the problem..
he didnt sound modded tho

Just because he should win or he should lose...doesn't mean it will go that way on the street.
My T/A weighed in at 3580 at Bandimere two weeks ago. I have an iron block and Moser 9" rear, so that is added weight over stock.

Anything can happen. I understand the T/A should have won but you guys have to remember that our stock A4s are not the greatest from a roll.

I fully optioned SRT-8 w/ a full tank weighs 4200lbs, R/Ts are 100-200lbs less than that.

Get a computer on that bitch, tune, and find out whats going on sounds like it might have something to do with the MAF if its bouncing off of the rev limiter like that.

good kill but it shoulda been a lot worse. from a 5-10mph roll i put a car length on an R/T with 22's before my peddle was even to the floor and i just kept pulling away. Although my buddy let me drive it after we raced and those cars are REALLY nice on the inside. Those seats are very comfortable. But still way too heavy.

Our A4's arent the greatest from a roll but def stronger than an rt, but yea i guess anything can happen. imo the interior of a charger or basically all of the new chryslers are cheap, but i def think an srt has the edge on us, at least a4's, their no slouch
