:brick: Can someone tell me if I should buy this or not.

This guy is in my area and I talked to someone who knows him.He does build race engines mainly BMW stuff and has a good rep.

The thing has been sitting for 2 years and looks alittle rusty.
I see some blue stuff on the rear of the engine....is that the old paint or some sort of assembly lube.
I sent him a email for installation...around $1000 for him to put it in.

Need some advice quick.........Thanks:brick:

tough call.... have you inspected it personally? does he mean 0 miles since the rebuild, or 0 miles period...?

I'd pass and get a new stroker or at the very least a GM new LT1 just to have peace of mind.

I went to a parts dept at a chevy dealership to see if there was any lt1 crate engines floating around......they searched everywere, with GM and on line....no luck..very hard to find one.
Some one has a brand new corvette LT4 crate engine never removered from the crate list on ebay for $4000.00.

You can't depend on what you don't know about, and home rebuilds or small shop rebuilds are sometimes questionable, knowing what you've got means alot.
