Well I was driving along minding my own business haha :blah: when i see this mustang turn on to the road I was just getting on (late 80's, early 90's 5.0 type). We are fooling around and he follows me into a parking lot where I'm about to get food, and his friend says, "hey man thats a pretty sweet ride you got there". I responded with a thank you and asked if his friend wanted to run, they agree. His car is a 5.0 with a cobra symbol above the 5.0, so I ask, supercharged huh? He said yep, its got a blower, pretty built (I could hear the cam/s loping) with 4.56 gears and a nasty wide stance. I think to myself oh great, my 2.73's are gonna really fail me here (havent gotten the 3.73s in yet, I love my 27mpg). So we line up from a dig and his friend counts to 3. He spins like a bastard, and I take off on him. Halfway through 2nd here he comes, but not too fast. He gets me by the end of the 1/4 by a car and a half, and we pull up next to eachother. Passenger yells "THAT THING HAULS ASS! Whats it got heads and cam???". I simply say nope just stock with exhaust. Hes impressed and we both head our seperate ways.
Next up is at the local street racing hang out. Shit was kinda slow, so they wanted to set me up with an lt1 m6 camaro with full exhaust with LT's and LT4 cam, as well as other unknown stuff. He usually runs nitrous but only when he has his dr's, so no spray tonight. My car is fairly new to that venue, and his car is well known, so I mention my 2.73's and full exhaust, and the negotiating is underway. They were willing to give me car lengths, and I wasnt gonna deny it. My side asked for a car and the hit(I start the race when I want, he has to wait for me), or 3 car lengths with a flag. We finally negotiate it down to 2 lengths, and the race is set. We line up with a flag man, and we're off. He gains about a half a car from the 2 cars back with the launch on me due to his standard and gears, my launch was as good as it could be with my gears. I held him a car and half back the entire race and thats how it ended.
So a good night for me, I lost to a supercharged 5.0 and beat a cammed z28. I just cant wait to get my gears in there after winter..... :leghump:
