I ll try to get a better video, but on this one at 2500rpm the second time it stays there for longer than it should and makes a squish sound...I wish i could explain better but i really have no idea what its doing..

I hear it at 34 MPH on your video, that sound is definitely unsettling, I'm not sure what it is perhaps some of the more Auto-savvy ppl here can help you. But either way, I don't recommend driving it much!

before you ruin it STOP driving it hard!!! get the trans serviced.Replace the filter and fluid then see how it works. If you were closer i'd offer to pump the fluid out for you.

I have replaced gasket, filter and have done multiple flushes. the previous owner never flushed it, it was at 65k when i got it june of 06 and now at 96k. it doesnt always shift like that just sometimes and i am not doing the same thing when it does...I also have replaced the fuel filter..

My first course of action, personally, would be to save like $1500 and buy a beater so you don't DD your baby. Then, take it to a tranny shop after you've saved up some more and have them look it over, if you catch it early you may save yourself unwanted cost/headache later on. And afterwards, you'll be thanking yourself that you don't have to put miles on your baby!!

what type of fluid did you put in it?DexronIII or the new DexronVI?Also are using any kind of air filter that uses oil like a K&N etc?

It has a k&n filter, not sure how old it was in it when i bought it but it looks in good condition. As for dexron, it has what ever the dipstick says.:dunno::Ohno:

ok try this....pull the the kn out and put a standard air filter in ...also buy some maf cleaner and clean the maf sensor. The pcm uses the maf info to adjust the trans pressures.I'll bet your maf is dirty and it WILL ruin the trans quickly. Good Luck ps throw that kn away!

If this is the issue, will it clear up right away or do i need to give it time?

cleaning the maf should clear it right up.

Cleaned...seems better but havent been able to drive it that much to see if it comes back. Also when it shifts it shifts at 5k rpm then drops to 3k rpm is that normal?

rpm should drop as it shifts,if it goes up the trans is slipping./you need a boyf to teach you all these things.

As the trans shifts through each gear it drops rpms on every shift. The idea is to match the engines power to the speed the car is moving.

I'm bringing up this old thread because I think that I have a similar problem. I just installed an aftermarket intake and throttle body. The car runs great when manually shifted (I have A4) but shifts out of 1st around 5k when left in Drive (it should be about 5800). It seems to skip 2nd and go straight to 3rd lugging the car down. The tranny shifted fine before the intake/TB install. I'm thinking that there could be a problem with the TPS. Can anyone help??
