I just had the transmission replaced in my 94 z28 and the guy doing it said it needed a new computer for the transmission because the new tranny was shifting weird and is trying to charge me 1000 for it. I cant find anything online about it to find out if thats a decent price or if its even a real thing. Any help on the subject would be great. Thanks.

I am not an expert on these vehicles whatsoever, in my opinion, the PCM located on the passenger side firewall controls the shifting of the transmission. Any changes SHOULD be made to the program of this unit.
I believe he is trying to take your money.

If the trans is a stock build with a stock or near stock converter I would get a PCM from and junkyard or a reman unit from autozone and try it first they are not that expensive and easy to change, If you have a stall above 2800 rpm you may need tuning but a new pcm will not help.
