My friend has a 02 vert GT and doesnt really know alot about cars....he works with me and is always talking shit about my "Neon" and how he has a mustang and i dont stand a chance....ok i already know what the outcome would be but i go along. I told him i was not worthy but if it would make him feal any better we could race from a dig. He agreed and we left work yesterday and lined em up on a 2 lane dead road. Lets just say i pulled him by about 7 cars or so and most were the first 330ft. Keep in mind that the majority of my shift change was onside the road watching the race(about 75ish people) So i stopped at the store we always go to after work and he just kept going....:spit: I cant wait to talk to him when i go back to work wedsday!!!:lmao:

What, compared to the 170 HP 305 that came in my '84 TA?

Ford sure sold the hell out of them. That's what they built it for. The LS1 F-Body couldn't compete in that arena.

First of all your making 600+rwhp and running an 11.1, i have seen 430rwhp f-bodys run 11 flat, so your shit does stink get over yourself and your car, and i have seen supras that weight 3700lbs with 652rwhp run 9.8s, only 50 more hp that your car.

Oh yeah im glad i dont see as many f-bodys as i do mustang GTs do you want to see everyone driving your sports car cause i dont.

Not wasteing you gas on vette, the new z06 with just drag radials has run 10.8s no other mods, with bolt ons and a tune with drag radials mid 10s all day. BTW the vette stock only makes around 430-440rwhp and with drag radials runs high 10s 11 flat with a average driver once again proving the point that you aint shit.

Not to mention both cars look a hell of alot better than you cobra, the viper or the vette

People bought more Mustangs because women like them, they drive like minivans, and men in their mid life crises years were nostalgic about the muscle car they always wanted as kids. The fact that the LS1 f-body was faster and handled better made no differance because people buying Mustangs only wanted a V8 grunt in an easy to get in and out of minivan type vehicle. The Mustang fit the bill. The F-body is too fast, rough riding and is hard to get into. Plain and simple.

Personally I like them being that slow. After getting our asses kicked by fox body Mustangs for so long in the 80s it is just nice to be able to dole it out ourselves. Payback is Hell

Too true the 80s 305 and even the 235hp 350 sucked ass. Thats like mustang GTs made in the mid 90s lol. The the lt1 came 285hp of greatness.

Then again just because the car wasn't as fast as a LS1 doesn't mean it sucked. My little Nissan altima I had wasn't fast, but it was comfortable and never failed me. I loved that car, I still miss it and all its glorious gas mileage.

Now we are talking apples to oranges. Nobody is going to compare an f-body or Mustang to an Altima. The Altima is an econobox 4 door. Just like the trusty Mazda 626 V6 5 speed we had. Yeah it was quick and reliable and could pull on most 3rd gens, but come on.

I loved my convertible M3. Reliable as hell, quick and could rip up a corner. Not the same car though. Not built to be an inexpensive performance car for the masses like the Mustang and Camaro.

You are correct. But I dont think I ever said a Mustang was a POS. I think everyone, including myself, was just making the point that they are slower than same year F-body. I actually helped my step sister pick out an 05. She picked the Mustang because it was newer than any Camaro she could get and it was prettier. After she drove it for a few months I bought mine. When she drove mine stock she couldnt beleive that she was stuck in a payment on a slow Mustang and could have had mine for the down payment. Those were her words. Not mine.

I asmit bob you are fast, but 90% of the mustang driver out there unless its a 03 or 04 will loose in race, the kids with GTs that have jsut exhaust most run 14s, ls1 rapes that i have beaten all kinds of years of the pre 03 cobras. On the street the ls1 just wins.

HAHA, the '89 metro i bought was the best $50 I've ever spent, 5sp, topped out at 95 in 4th (felt o whole hell of alot faster thought cause your in a damn shoe box at 95) man i miss that car

hell yeah, me and my buddy were haul'n ass down a back road ( as much as you can in a metro) and we hit 95 in 4th so i was think'n wow its still got 5th left in her so i hit 5th and the damn thing just falls on its face and drops to about 70 lol

i got an old 89 honda 5spd to dre before i got my car. I got it cuz i wanted to brush up my skill on driving stick before i got my car. I miss the feeling of having 110 horses at ur command. I miss the days of barley peeling out when redling in first and dumping the clutch. Then i got the bird and tried that, and i left 2 sheets of nice dark rubber near my friends house. And after i got the modding bug...it became worse.
