This is one of the many mods i'm thinking of doing but is it worth the time and install? Have youre times gone down much with it? How is it for a daily driver? Also, I have heard that shift kits are actually worse on the tranny.. is this true?

Im thinking of putting in either a turbo or nitrous later on and it was suggested to me to get a shift kit first to lessen any damage shifting.. is it needed?

I don't know if you'd need one before the turbo or nitrous, but I've heard they're harder on your tranmission. They say something like it can make you rupture a line faster or something, but when I decide to get my shift kit, I plan on replacing all that stuff with the installation of the kit.

i have had my shift points changed for low throttle and had the dull throttle shift strength changed.

i had it done when i got the trany rebuilt. it went out due to previous owner nuetral dropping.

now is completly rebuillt by a tranny shop that specialises in road racing/light drag its got a 5 year warenty as long as the power doesnt go over 600 ponies and 600 foot lbs

difenatly worth it

its when someone that doesnt care about a car or just doesnt know what there doing, puts teh car in neutral while rolling, revs the engine up to higher rpms, and pulls it into drive, making the tires spin, they think it looks cool, and dont realize there f-ing up there tranny

A Shift Kit Can Be Installed And With A Firm ....not Break Your Neck Everytime .....shift Can Actually Increase The Life Of A Trans. But Nothing Is Better Than....oh God Wait For It.........actually Changing The Fluid Reguarly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what he sad but you dont have to do it from a roll . the computer doesnt want to shift it int first if the rpm is to high but if you let off till it goes bellow 2500 and hit it again it will shift around5k.

the only reason i know this is because before i had my tranny rebuilt i had some fun on the way there since the only thing we kept was the case

now theres nothin like idling at 30 mph and flooring it i get thrown back pretty hard for a realativly stock 6

I first had a B&M shift kit stage 2

Then upgraded valve body, bands etc

Then eventually got a built tranny.

The B&M shift kit stage 2 is $40 from www.summitracing.com Then there is install.... have a prof tranny shop do it.

It can prolong the life of a tranny... as long as fluid is changed at normal intervals

So you would suggest a B&M shift kit? What have you heard about transgo shift kits? I basically just have magnaflow catback, K&N filter and whisper lid. I hope to get get two of the following in the next year... VS Cam, headers, stall converter

I like B&M's shift kit.

I do not like transgo's

What the reason for one being better then the other? what do you like more about B&Ms?

Depending on how many miles are on you trans I think they are a good investment. However, if you set the firmness to high then it will do more harm than good. For your car I would adjust to a low - medium setting. Theu will increase the life of your trans if properly adjusted
