2007 Lamborghini Murcielago vs 402 LS2 TA

on my way from LG, I raced vs a 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 ...

his specs: 6.5L v12 640hp, 3600 lbs
mine: 6.0L v8 605hp, 3700lbs (heavy D60 bolt and amp box etc)

it was traffic on the highway, I'd say 50 to 85mph, he had me by a 1-1.5 car lengths. He jumped first then by the time we shut down he had about a car length on me... very very nice car guys!

I took pic with my cell phone camera before this... hahhaha I could not believe I am going against the big guys. it was like an enzo pulled on me by a car or so... that thing was stuck to the ground and about 2-3 inches lower than I already am. I will post pics of it in a bit...

impressive machine! but 320k price tag too :D

Is there a difference in the appearance between the normal Murcielago and the LP640?

at the track? 1/4mi they should be low 11s - high 10s on DRs... 550rwhp (640hp) and 487tq stock.
I haven't seen one ever at the track though.

not really. more power needed. he took the jump on me too. it's not the m6 vs a4 issue, so when you get to beat one let me know :D I think 1 car in front of me it's damn good. and for those that think I should have beat one, bull... I am 60rwhp less and managed to stay within 1 car length if we take the fact he jumped first...

altho, how does a stall help at higher speeds? like in 3rd gear... if your not really under ur stall speed at all, what good does it do?

the stall upto 50s, I think it locks at 60mi, but then my A4 is stage5. shift 100 times better than the stock and built to hold 600rwhp+

formula 1's are autos with paddle shifters

auto built up right is good for straight racing, stalled even better for track.
manuals are better for road course track.

it depends what setup you want. also if you have a manual you get better returns on the mods like 3% more than auto, but I've raced against many manual cars with 20-30 more hp than me and blew their doors in on the highway. people can't shift fast enough... :yup:

about the apperance, 2 exhaust tips on regular 2006 I see, one big almost rectangular exhaust tip on new LP640... and the whole rear end trunk looks slightly different.

No offense, but had that race lasted a little bit longer and had the driver been competent....it would have been a whole 'nother story. I know your car is fast, but those Bulls are made to run @ those speeds. That 8000rpm redline ain't hurting that Lambo either. There's 320k for a reason.

I agree, even if I was packing 550rwhp as him I'd still be a bit in trouble after 110 or so when his aerodynamics kick in nicely. :yup: I think had we gone further 40-120mph he'd put 3-4 cars on me... but that's not a bad picture either considering I am 60rwhp less than him. I wish you were there to see it, it looked like a super bad ass car!

not only that..autos really arent that bad...it all depends on how you set it up for which specific power band..obviously nobody could use a manual tune set up on an auto..or use a auto tune set up on a manual.

I was overwhelmed just to see the LP640 Murci in my rearview mirror, it all happened so fast it was like a dream, 4-5 sec and shutdown... I was shaking a bit :D definetely a very respectful loss :)

I got on it with a 360 Modena back at the beach one night, didn't have the bottle open though, so he was pulling me, probably 2 cars over a 60 mph span....

As they say, there'll always be something faster.... but as long as they're 100k+ exotics, I'm still content!

I second Lous, c6z06, LT H and tuned close to 500rwhp = 1/4 of the price of the other exotics in the same power band. for the buck it is one of the most affordable semi exotic car along with the new dodge viper... at the end of the day, you put gas in it, haul ass with it and exaust gas comes out of it... If I seat in a $800 leather seat or $10000 leather seat I don't care, if the rims are $2000 bucks or $15000 I don't care etc...

it's like consuming $10 dollar glass of wine vs $50... ok... whatever no difference really, there're both good.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: fyi they are semi auto. the driver uses the paddels to switch gears but the actual clutching and gear changing is electro-hydrolicaly operated. One exception is when the car is taking off or coming to a stop. then the driver must use a lever behind the wheel to manually operate the clutch.

btw ot trying to change subject but indy and formla on are my life and it is a pet peeve of mine where someone get things messed up. as for the subject at had i wish i could been there to see the guy in he lambo when you didnt just drop right away. He was probably scared

haha well bro think about it guys like him go out and pay 300k for something that is sopposed to be superiour, but he is broke now and has no room for upgrades uless he really is a rich mother. then come along a guy like us was was smart and took 20k of our 300k and put some of the ramaing 280k into the car and save the rest. then we keep up with mr bigshot who thinks his shit is the best.
