Working on a 96 TA and can't get rid of P1641 code(Fuel Pump Primary Circuit Failure). Anybody have a clue what this is? We have replaced a blown engine & fired it up and this is the only code we have.
Appreciate the help.
Thanks

Does it come back after you clear it? If it were a bad fuel pump, I dont think the car would start/run... interesting... but 1641 comes up as "Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Control Circuit " in my OBD2 scanner...

If this is the correct number ...P1641....I get it as a Fan 1 relay Control circuit problem.Possible causes are Fan Control Relay,Poor connectors,Powertrain Control module ,Open in Ignition Feed to relay. The Cicuit description is .....Ignition voltage is supplied directly to the cooling fan relay. The pcm controls the relay by providing the ground path. Hope this helps.....Are the cooling fans working correctly?

Wow 3 different discriptions... I love the universilization of the automotive market.

Thanks.
The fans aren't working correctly, they are wired up directly. That sounds like the problem.
You guys rock!
