anyone heard of a o2 sensor socket?

Yep, I have one. You can get them at any local parts stores or even Sears has them. I got mine at Advance Discount Auto Parts.

I am not sure because I had my exhaust completely off during my header install, so they were sitting on the floor.

I used visegrips. I can't remember the exact size of the O2 nut though.

The socket he asked about in the first post allows this. It is cut out on one side allowing for the wire to come out the side. I just dont remember if you can get on that one or not. If you plan on replacing it though, damaging it with vice grips or ?? doesnt matter. Just get it out somehow. Getting in the new one is a differant story though.

I guess I just can't picture how it would go over the wire...

I use a West Virginia socket set on mine....also known as a crescent wrench. I bought the O2 socket at one time but loaned it out to someone and never got it back. My crescent wouldn't work on my buddies vette so we used a stubby wrench to get it off.

the socket has its purpose as sometimes you deal with angles that dont allow a combo wrench or you cant get onto the nutted part of the sensor with a wrench. as far as spending 100 bucks on one, thats ridiculous, i didnt spend that much and i think i bought mine from the Mac guy. it was like 20 bucks. its worth it, i use it and have never fucked up a sensor either removing or installing.

well my ses light has turned off, with same o2 sens, but went to get scanned to see if it was a fluke. nope still the po155. soo i used mr lous advice w/vice grips. and still wont budge hrrrr. you its still on jack stands for now

I use a a boxed end wrench. If your carefull you can disconnect the o2 and slip the plug and wire threw the boxed end, it's a tight but it will fit.
