Well, I thought I had a fast car.

Anyway, was driving home last night on a 4 way and an 03/04 Cobra flies by me. I see him hit the brakes and slow down. So he starts pacing me and he has a passenger (which I assume is his girlfriend), I also see some gauges on his A-pillar. He paced me for about 30 seconds, but he wouldn't look over at me... I kept waiting... and waiting.. nothing. So, I downshift to 2nd, and blip the throttle. He does the same thing... BUT HE STILL WON"T LOOK OVER AT ME..!! WTF. Anyway, I just hammer it down, I hear him do it and he just creeps by me.

I'm thinking to myself. "Huh, I guess all those posts about Termy's not being that fast stock have some truth to them." I mean, he was only creeping by and had about 1 car length on me when I let up.

So we go again, from about 40..... Yeah, the SOB must have been sandbagging the previous race; because this time he pulled on me like I was flooring an escort in fifth gear. I mean, all I heard was the whine, saw the rear of his car squat, and he was GONE... All I have to say is WOW!! It's totally different when you actually experience a race against one of those things.



I have an '02 Maro - pretty much bone stock except for the SLP's and the intake.

What the other guy did is alot of fun. I do it alot to GT Stangs. I see what gear I can be in a still win the race.

For example a 94-95ish GT I raced about a week ago. I left my car in 4th gear and we went from 40 or so mph. I didnt have to shift for the whole race. Once we got close to triple digits,I pulled alot, but he had me a by a little up untill 70 or so. Then I re raced him, because he was ready for another close race. But I punched it from 2nd and didnt look back. I imagine the guy was a little upset.

It is alot of fun, except sometimes you get surprised and a car is faster than you think. But you just have to downshift quickly and catch up. I dont try it on LS1 cars though.

I raced a Stock Cobra while he left in 2nd gear at 15mph...and I beat it...up to like 80mph...then there was traffic... but the guy was cool enought to let me know he was doing that cause his tires where shitty and he didn't get grip...and then went on to say..."I didn't know those things where that fast" (in spanish ofcourse) :thumbup:

i pulled that shit on a honda the other night, i just punched it in 6th on the freeway and started pulling. he started to catch up with all that top end vtec power, once he got next to me, i look over and see him and his buddy havin a ball, laughing and shit. so i throw it down in 4th and put a couple busses on him. 5 min later i got pwned by the ricer flyby.
