Increasing the rockerarm ratio is a horsepower trick that has been widely used. High ratio rocker open the vavles quicker lift them higher and close them later all with out affecting seat timing. trade offs are....the faster accerations and decelerations produced by higher rocker arm ratios reduce valve train stability ..... inviting early valve float.

Arnt the stock LS1 Rocker arms like 1.7? So going to 1.6 or 1.5 would actually not be good?

small block chevys come with1.6 ratio rockers in place of the standard 1.5. No i would not go smaller if thats what your asking. going smaller would actually decrease your theoretical ratio.

Ummm, I thought they were 1.6's... I know 3.8L engines are 1.7's.

Just looking around here, so far I really like this site. Since most of the Hideout and most of you and Josh's buds hangout here, I figured I would become sociable too :)
