okay, hey everybody,

we all know that our car has a shock sensor located by the spare tire, but the functionality and reliablity is way less that perfect, even on the most sensitive setting if someone hits the front bumper or anywhere on the car except the right rear quarter panel the chances of the alarm going off are slim to none,

solution.
buying about 5 or 6 of the same sensor and just piggy backing the stock harness in the spare tire compartment and putting a sensor at every corner and in each door. sounds excessive i know but i love my car and hate when people even think of touching it,

my question is do yo uthink that this would work,

from my experience in wiring it should but tell me what you guys think!

Maybe your sensor is just bad - had to turn my sensitivity down cause it was going off for low flying aircraft (live near NAS Jax) and thunder. Also went off just flipping the fuel door shut.

I just added a Dual-Zone Proximity Sensor. Someone gets close it chirps the alarm. If they get within the car. The alarm will sound.

I can set mine to where a slight breeze sets it off.

is that only in the camaro that the sensitivity setting is by the spare tire? I looked in my firebird around the spare tire and didn't find anything. Do I have to remove the spare tire? It was dark so i'll look again tomorrow.

nice ed, good call this is exactly what i was trying to get at,

also is the shock sensor still active even after the install of this, if you have it mounted thru the shock sensor wires?

Yes, I am using the shock sensor wires. Now I can turn down the sensitivity on the shock sensor.

I wonder if they make them anymore? I am sure any proximity sensor will.

yeah, so i didnt see any pics confirming this but yours in under the rubber cover or did you leave that off? im sure the sensor would only work with this off,

and also my new car is parked outside always under a cover so i dont think this would be ideal for that but good for public parking although i dont park my car in parking lots cause well no one gives a shit anymore, they just ding your car and go oops my bad.

and then i got no my bad and shoot them in the face

Its under the rubber cover. Anything metal will block it.

okay sweet i found it, i guess it saays it will work thru fabric and other materials, so having my car cover on wont effect it, im getting it,

could you give a detailed instuctions on how you wired it to the factory shock sensor, because i am buying it from ebay i dont think it will have this
