Looking to get about a 2800 stall converter for the camaro. My question is , will i need to have the computer tuned for it or not? Thanks for the help!

yes, its best to have it tuned.
dont get a stall under 3000 rpm for a ls1.

You will not need a tune for a stall under 3K, however it is a complete waste of money.

Go with a 3600 and be done with it.

What do they do as far as the tune goes when you install the bigger converters?

I believe they set the idle higher depending on the outer diameter of the new converter, adjust the shift points and line pressure. I am sure there are other aspects that need attention, I am not aware of everything that it intails.

3600-3800 for track and still be pretty good daily driver. if you want track only get 4200 :D

A tune will also make it a little tighter taking off. Before the tune it would slip a whole lot more than afterwards. Makes taking off lightly much easier. Don't know technically what they did I just know it works alot better tuned.

You should also consider a TransGo shift kit, it will beef up the transmission to accept the greater demands put on it.

If your vehicle is an 01 and 02 model, a flexplate upgrade would be in order.

Hey, thanks guys for all your input. I put a b&m transpak in it already, and the torque management turned off with my crane powermax tuner. Thinking about going with the fuddle 3600, there warranty sounds really good. Thanks again!
