I want to put subs in my car and I want it to hit kind of hard but at the same time I really don’t want to lose my T-top holder. Has any1 tried these boxes from sub thump http://www.subthump.com/acamarottop.htm? R any other suggestions?

I'm looking to do the same thing. My set will be 3 10's because I already had 2 12's in an earlier camaro and want somthing new. But I would like to know as well. Subthump use to make a milhouse box the flipped over and gave you full access to the t-top rack but the discountined it a few years back I think.

You know, I had a good small set up. I had 1- 10" sub, and yes it doesn't sound like much, but I had it in the box meant for the Camaros that tucks behind the plastic behind the rear driverside tire. With the right sub and amp combo it sounded really nice. It would rattle my buddies shelves in his house from about 20-30 feet away. And that allowed me full, and constant access to my t-top holders.

ya i thought about getting a 10 inch stealth enclosure but i did not think that it would hit that hard.

I have MTX 10", not sure the model, one of the top ones they make with 800 watts going to it. The best thing about the Camaro is it's a hatchback so you don't have anything stopping the sound from coming up front. I like alot of thump too, and this set up rattled my mirror loose after a short period of time. Granted it's not your 12s, but depending on the size of your amp, you should be able to find a 10 that can handle it.

I have never used the T-top box from subthump, but I would imagine it would pound pretty hard. I, personally, dropped my car off this afternoon to have a single Diamond Audio TDX10 installed, firing directly up at the rear glass, powered by a JL A1800 mounted on the back wall. I am having the installers take out the stealth box I currently have installed because of a lack of "true" deep bass with the Kicker Comp VR10 I have now.
I have had dual 10 & dual 15 "well boxes" installed in my car in the past, but the bumping can get to become unbearable. For me, I value trunk space more than going deaf! I have to use my trunk several times a week, and packing groceries or whatever in my backseat is not something I feel is conventional. It's a personal preference, but I try to get the best of both worlds (bass and space).
I'll try to post up some pics when they get it finished!

I know everyone says sony sucks or whatever but I actually like the quality and never had any problems. The bass is very crisp. As for the box I love it. Only problem is to fit the t-tops in there I have to lift the box to put the first one down there. The hole isn't quite big enough for the handle part of the t-top. Other than that I love the look. Definitely worth my money.

oh man I just noticed how dirty the car is. Promise its not always like that :) Oh and something I forgot to mention... the amp sits under the box pretty nice. It makes for a very clean setup.

Thanks for the pic, do the t-tops just slid in or do they lock in
sirenformula350

they slide in but they sit in there very snug. I could take a pic later to illustrate what I mean if youd like.

I have a 10" Alpine powered by a bridged Rockford Fosgate amp, but i not done installing yet... i should be done by next week ( i will do a write up of the entire set up... door speakers, rear sails, 2 amps, the one sub and a head unit)

Yeah, spare is completely gone. It's okay though. Car is lowered too low for most jacks, to fit underneath.

Hey sirenformula350- Do the t-tops sit on top of your amp. What I mean is, do they touch your amp? And if your amp wasnt there, would the tops sit lower down?

I ordered both boxes through Subthump.

yeah it touches the amp but I really don't think they'd sit too much lower if the amp wasn't there.

As soon as i get enough time im going to build a box that goes on top little area right behind the back seat, its going to be about the same height, and im going to put my xbox right next to it. I bought a amp rack from a guy who bought it from subthump and im going to put a 10" RF punch with a 1500w RF amp. I hope to do it soon, if not i have some time off coming up at the begining of october i will get it done then.

(What are the two slots?)there ports they increase sound ...like a seal box makes less sound then a ported box im not the best at explaining things im sure some one else could do better
sirenformula350

gotcha. I know what ports do and everything but I just didn't think they were ports. It almost looked like something was supposed to go there. Thanks.

I would suggest either making a custom fiberglass box that will fit perfectly behind the seats, or having someonelse do it...i had this done by a local audio store, and it looks great, I have three tens...The amp is mounted in the spare tire compartment...let me know if you would want to see pictures.

the subthump boxes are nice i got on e for mine. i got the dual 10" t-top box. but just dont be a dumbass like me and mount the amps too far back on that rear deck. i mounted mine like 1/4 of an inch to close to the box and my damn t-tops dont slide in. thats my fault though.
The box sounds pretty decent, but if your going to go with some high powered 10's and some points it sounds like the sub's bottom out in the box meaning that they need more airspace in the box. box could be a little deeper, other than that im happy with it.
I got 2 boston acoustic G2's, Fosgate P950, 6farad cap, Fosgate P325 amping my 4 pioneer 6 3/4 speakers, and a pioneer premeire head unit
