I was on my way home from pittsburgh to cincinnati last night. I had just drove 287 miles of the 300 total. I was carrying 3/4 a tank and the weight-equivillant of about 2 peoples' worth in gifts/food/subs from home.

So I was cruising @80, tired as all hell and I pass a new boat, I-I MEAN, mustang. I think it was a v6 b/c there was only 1 tail pipe and no markings to indicate gt model. So i figure nothing of it when all of a sudden i see him make a jump! I thought "fuck it...i'll put him in his place" and i drop to 3rd and just destroy him. I slow back down, drop back to 4th and he gets back next to me. I see him starring, just jaw-dropped. it's a young dude, with backward hat n' all...AND HE TRIES AGAIN! I scream outloud "WHAT ARE YOU...RETARDED?!" so i slam 3rd, put another beating on him again and sent him crying back to his dealership....c-ya buddy, thanks for the thrills. :Owned:

ya know, i saw another 05 v6 the other day, and i got confused b/c he had 4 headlights...i thought that was a saleen or GT thing? There were no GT or Saleen markings at all so WTF? is that like a ram-air hood on a v6 f-bod? basically what i'm asking is what is a way of telling weather it's an 05 v8 or v6?

Yeah, i was passing a ford dealer on the way home the other day and saw these v6 models with the foglights. The v8's have the gt badges on the front fenders right behind the front wheel, the big foglights in the center of the grill, dual exaust and the bullit rims or the gt rims. But i think now theyre making some package for the v6's that has smaller foglights with some chrome trim around them, and bullit rims, but it still has the single exaust ( with a chrome tip i think ), but they dont have the gt badges which is a surefire way of telling them apart. I like to think of it as the "poor mans gt", the look of a gt...without the performance! Oooohhh yeah!

Well in all honesty a GT would have put up a much better fight than the two V6 editions you raced....while not much up top (in stock form) a GT would have made it worth your while from a dead stop if driven to its potential...they launch very well with the new platform and decent tires, and respond very well to mods (even though they must have a tune with their new computers) The body styling is deceiving, while they are larger in appearance, the weight increase is very nominal over the 99-04 'new edge' Mustangs, yet torsional rigidty is increased 31% over the older design (meaning a twisting force of 15,500 foot-pounds can only deform the body by one degree)

FYI the GT and V6 grilles can not be swapped, as much as they look like they can. The V6 grill is either plain (no fog lights) or as in the new '06 editions, will sport a small fog light (as opposed to the GTs large ones) on either side of the running horse.

i dont know about that, looked a motor trend and the auto went 5.1 0-60,and the 1/4 stop at 13.6, the 5-speed did the 1/4 in 13.5, i know my stock auto could not do 0-60 in 5.1 or 13.6 in the 1/4 maybe a 14.0.:naughtywa
