Stone vs 04 Cobra

My buddy that i work with has an 04 Cobra with X-pipe, catback, intake and tune only. We went from a dig leaving work.....i pulled 2 cars out the hole and he didnt catch up till 85....when i hit 4th he passed me and by 135 he was about 2 cars out. From a 40 roll i pulled half off the jump and he came by me at 85 again......taking me by about 3 cars to 145.......we raced kinda high. I think 1/4 mile would be kinda close.....he would prolly have me by a car or so......that car moves top end!!!! O well.....prolly one of the last runs for the skittle! Make me want to get one still....but im getting a GTO....Lts, catback, intake, tune a lil suspension and 100 shot will trap me round 125ish....good enough for me!

Well cobras can trap 112ish stock, so if he had a pulley tune and exhaust, he is making around 450rwhp, from 375rwhp trapping 112, either your faster than you think or hes a bad driver. with those mods they generally drop almost a ful lsecond in the quarter if he knows how to drive that is a high 11second car. low low 12s

No wit ha pulley tune, intake, header and exhaust most make 440-460rwhp which is around 500 at the crank

Pulley/CAI/Tune and CB they are 450-470 rwhp. 500-540 rwhp with a ported eaton. Just wanted to clear that up. You dont even bother putting headers on a Cobra.

I have never raced a stock cobra i think it would be close. I have raced stage 3 rousch the new ones with 425hp i think but never a 03 04. Stock ones run mid to high 12s right? I ran a 12.87 on a 88 degree day. so im mid to high 12s with just exhasut headers and lid.

That would be a good race! Yea they usually run mid to high 12's but I have also seen them run 13's and 14's with bad drivers. Go find one and have some fun, should be really close and those are the fun races.

I really like the Gtos, i was a little sad at the fact that the ls2s dont seem as fast as i would liked it to be, however the interior is baller. There is some old guy who lives by my house with a built 04 GTO, sound so nasty runs mid 11s and is a daily driver in summer, he also has a EVO and 4 mercedes, cool guy. Are the interiors of the 04s the same as the 05s and 06s?

im with guru on this one, you trap WAY more than 112, of course, given your weight and a good 60, thats probably good enough to break 11s you lucky bastard...

anyway nice kill. pullied eatons wont get to 500, but they certainly are mid 450s with catback. tell your buddy to get a different blower and make insane power.

If you pulled him you should be very low 12s possibly even touching 11s. Low 12s if he cant drive for shit and if he does know how to drive then you should be like 11.8-12.2 would be my guess.

just wanted to clear somthing, according to thread starter the car didn't have pulley. so the car was probably making 400-410rwhp and around 380-390rwtq. so sounds about right. cobra should be trapping 113-115mph with those mods (intake, catback, tune) and since the thread starter is trapping 112mph the story sounds just about right!

and yes, stock cobra traps around 112mph stock. I trapped best of 114mph stock and ran best of 12.70@113mph stock on a good cool day!

No, I keep to dynojets for 'intenet racing', as they are as close as you can get to being comparible.

And if I were driving a truly stock Mach 1, with stock tires, you'd be fine.....I suck on street tires (driving style is a weeeeeeee bit aggressive). :)
