I want to make my 10 bolt stronger. I am not going to have 1,000 horse power. But I don't want problems in the future and I don't want to get a 12 bolt. so with that said i am going to get the 3.73 gears installed this weekend with the install kit. what else exactly can I do to re-enforce the rear end. Where can I buy whatever i need?

if you want the stocker still, make sure your Diff is still good, get a TA rear end cover which will help strengthen it up, and lastly if you want, change your axles if you want. The axles and siff are the big weak points in a 10 bolt

where can I buy a TA rear end cover at a reasonable price?

Personally I dont think the TA girdle will help it last. It looks cool tho and has a drain plug. I wouldn't spend any $ tryin to beef it up.

total waist of money, no matter how you cut it, its still a POS, your best option is to get a 9" or 12 bolt. my buddy beefed his up and it still broke 3 times last summer under stock power.

I don't advocate making the 10 bolt 'stronger'. Either:
a) select your gear set of choice, install, and be prepared to continue repairing it when it breaks
b) save up for a 12 bolt.
The problem is with the 10 bolt even if you do change gears, axles, etc something else can still break. Like the differential. Or let's say you spend $1300 'beefing' it up, and then the housing twists and you've got $1300 in a non-functional rear, and you won't get your money back reselling parts individually. So IMO, either change the gears & nothing else, or go all the way with a 12 bolt. For what its worth, the A4 is a little easier on the 10 bolt, but there are no guarantees.

i'm still on the stock 10 bolt. only change is the mikronite processed 3.73 gears. we'll see how long it lasts with my current set up.
it's all in how you treat it.
