Ok I have a 2000 Firebird v6 and a 2000 trans Am both automatics. My T/A has 2.73 gears and wanted to upgrade to 3.42's. My v6 came with 3.42's and LSD. Can I just swap rear ends?

I don't think he'll complain there, but being an auto v6 the engine might bog down from a stop. Also for the swap make sure the both are anti lock break and or traction control or you'll get an error on the dash

neither have traction control and both have abs. For the v6 I have a hypertech, but it only has 3 gear choices to change to 3.08, 3.23, and 3.42. If I do the swap and reprogram the v6 for 3.08 gear what will it do to my mileage? Will it show more miles than I've actually or will it do the opposite? I was also wondering about the the strength about both rear ends, are they the same?

Strength is the same, the mileage wont be off, but your speedo will read slower than it actually is
