and I'm very happy with it. The car sits a solid inch lower than before. Handles great, no squeaks and it only took about an hour. Best $4 I've spent on the car!! One word of advice, put a little motor oil on the top part of the spring to allow the hose to slide on a little easier. I had a hell of a time at first but after I put the oil on it, it slid on like a bride on her wedding night...

Tell me about the hose mod--what size hose? What kind? Abrasion resistant? Garden hose? Heater hose? Thanks in advance--
Bob

3/8 inch Heater hose. I used 2 ft on each side to be safe, spray some WD-40 on the spring to get it to slide on easy

The mod lowers the rear of your car ~1 inch by removing the factory rubber isolator that is about 3" thick (I wasn't even thinking about the weigh savings either) and replacing it with heater hose. You wrap the top coil of the spring with it to keep the same value of the isolator without the bulky size. It takes about an hour to do, just be careful when you pull your springs out, it's a good idea to wrap a chain or something around them so it doesn't jump out at you if there's still a little pressure on it. I used a small piece of a 2x4 against the brake rotor and the bumpstop to lower each side but I still had something in there in case the spring wanted to come out on it's own. Highly recommended first mod!!

Have you ever seen the list of things that people pull off their car to save weight? I'm sure someone has pulled the isolators and thought "sweet!! i'm gonna break 12 seconds this weekend now!". Not me though...

Congrats Bowtie, you're bit by the bug now!!

Sweet, then I'm gonna save .002 on my 1/4 times...

I know your bustin balls, that's okay, I am too. If weight were a concern for me, I'd drop a couple myself first.
