how much does an average cam install cost? Maybe this is the wrong section to ask, but does anyone know of a place around boston that does decent fbody work (i.e. a place that will install a cam). Most places around me know jack about internal engine work...

It depends on the labor rate. I am betting it would be at least $600 though....probably more.
Saves a good chunk of money to do it yourself. Not really that bad of an install if you take your time and be careful.

i say you use the money to buy the tools your gonna need and do it yourself. its really not that hard. it would be helpful to meet someone on the board near by to help you out.
