security measures, theft deterent

My car is currently getting built and i am spending alot of money on it.
I want to be assured that no one can steal it, or at least make the probability of it getting stolen less.

Anybody got any advice on what i should do?

Of course i am going with hood locks and a battery disconnect switch hidden somewhere in the car, but what else can i do....................any ideas would help.

Hook up the alarm to the battery and run a line so that it makes contact with the doors (metal) so that if someone tampers with it (through the doors) they'll get a nice 12V mega shock to their ass!

12 volt wont do enough of a zap. get a lojak. i think that you can now monitor where your car is by computer with them.

Alot of people will hardwire a switch straight into the fuel pump power line and tuck it somewhere nice and safe. You have yourself a manual fuel cutoff that cant be code hopped or anything like that and your golden. Unless a theif has time to figure out how to rewire ur fuel pump.

If you are going to do that might as well, jack up your car and take off all 4 wheels and lock them in the car every time you, go anywhere. Then hook up a flame thrower to the bottom of the car. When someone breaks in it blasts them with some fire. :rl: :jk:

i think i am going to run a couple switches, and a nice alarm. Oh and the hood lock....

Plus i will have the car wired to me so that if anything happens i know and i can go whoop some ass!!!!!!!

does anybody have the $500(Best Buy price) Viper Alarm system? does it work very well? I'm installing about $3500 worth of stuff in my car now and I REALLY don't want it to get stolen. I've thought about getting that alarm, but i'm not sure if it's worth the price.

Number 1 most important thing to do before getting any kind of alarm (in my opinion), make sure all your stuff is insured. If they break in and steal your stuff, at least you'll be able to replace it. Remember, even the most expensive alarm will at best deter someone from breaking in, it won't prevent them from doing so.

When you hook up the alarm buy a back up battery to power the alarm in case of a power failure. Otherwise they take a cordless drill to your battery and in 20 min the acid will run out and your down with no power. Then the thief can have a field day with it rolling it on a trailer or hook it up to a tow dolly and away he goes with no sound or real damage. You would be surprised what will be done if they want it. As soon as the back up battery notices power loss it triggers the alarm. This works even if they cut your positive battery cable.

yeah they do some crazy shit like that. on some cars they just chop the ground wire from the battery because that just grounds to the chassi and is the connection to every negative wire on the car. i probably should lol, otherwise id just relocate the battery to the trunk.
