2500 is way too small IMO, you'll want more. ;)

I was told bt TCI and thunder racing to go with a 2800 stall for my 02 DD. Everyone else fuddle, yank, PI told me to go with a 3400...
Im either gonna go 3000 or 3200 myself

Im very courious how your stall performs... Are you happy with just a 3000? I know most guys here would say higher is better. What kinda gains have you seen from going to a tci 3000?

it knocked off half a second of e.t off my times.
im rather pleased with it.
its a very tame stall thats great for a daily driver and weekend strip duty.
getting a bigger stall is kind of a double edged sword.
you get better performance but the problem is traction.

3000-3500 range is what I would get, closer to the 3500. 2500 is a waste to install.

i ended up going with a vigilante 3200 stall.. 224/224 comp cam, ported and polished 241 heads, and an slp underdrive pulley.. and all associated upgrades.. thanx for the help

Installing it all at once or part by part? If you do it at once it will feel like you traded in on something else. Nice parts list.

I have a Yank 3k stall in my 2001 Z28, and it is alot of fun to drive, HOWEVER if I had to do it all over again, I would go with a 3600 stall.

Stock stall speed is about 1800. I don't think you'd really gain much going to 2500. Go at least 3000. I went 3500. I'd recommend 3200-3500.

put a 2800 stall in my brothers 71 chevy pickup and it didnt make much difference over stock. changed it out for a 3500 and it made all the difference in the world. he is only running about 400hp so 2500 in a stock ls1 wouldnt be too big. i agree it isnt worth the expense of having it installed
