My 01 formula has the standard monsoon single cd installed. I am having problems with the lcd readout portions going blank but the unit works good. What I need to know will any gm monsoon radio from a 1998-2002 work in my car? I noticed on ebay the camaro radios look different. Will they work in my bird? Do they not have the equalizer? Are the camaro radios just as powerful as my pontiac radio? Thanks for the help.

same power, no eq
but there is no such thing as a Monsoon HU -- they are all the standard Delco units

So should I hold out for a unit the same as mine? Is there a noticeable sound differance without the equalizer? Thanks for everyones input.

idk.....you'd obviously lose some control -- I'd go for the eq if I were you -- I know that's one feature Firebird owners like over the Camaro version (as far as sound systems) -- also, I'm not sure completely if the mounting/fitment is exactly the same -- despite the units being the standard Delco units
or if you have no reason to keep the stock factory look -- go for a/m -- the stock Delco unit is the primary source of distortion, hurting SQ and damaging your speakers
