Hey, i was just wondering, what is the big differences in a WS-6 or an SS, which is just a barely upgraded Z-28 right? which is faster? handles better? better all around for owning? considering on buying one in the next year or so, thanks alot!
i think they are pretty much the same. both have ram air, increased suspension, maybe free-er flowing exhaust. personally i like the looks of the ws6 a lot more than the SS, but i wouldn't mind driving either. I'm looking for an 01-02 ws6.

really they are the same, both have upgraded suspension and the RAM air also the Larger tires to go along, and the hood, and wing, it basically comes down to what you like better but some SS came with SLP parts also which made them a bit faster.

and the SS are lighter then the WS6 and auctually the Formula is the fastest of them all because it has no extra weight on it

Yeah, they might as well be the same. What ever one you think looks better is the one to go with.
Me personally, i like the Camaro exterior better but the Trans am interior better, hmmm.
I'd take a Camaro. You can always swap interiors.:yup:

I own a camaro, but I prefer the looks of the WS6. Has a more agressive look to it, plus the shape of the body is nicer. Would have purchased a T/A, but Pontiac wouldn't finance me like Chevrolet would. So I purchased the Camaro. Now people are just giving them away,... shame really.

I have an SS myself. It is lighter than the Pontiac and with the Bilstein suspension on it, handles much better as well. It did have more SLP goodies to also make it faster as well (lets just say that bone stock, I beat C5's by a car length stop light to stop light.)

Like everyone has said, they are basically the same car. Comes down to how actual cars you have available are optioned, miles, etc. Biggest factor is which YOU think looks better, or suits you the best.
I had a 2000SS, and loved it. When I went for another F-Bod, I couldn't pass up on getting my 10th Anny. Firehawk myself.

Not sure about the WS6, but the SS body has composite everything except the rear quarters. (and roof if it's not a vert) Pontiac got a few more nice options, I guess they didn't have to bow quite as far as Camaro to the Corvette. My Silverado has more options than was available for my SS.

Better check again, because my 2000 SS has composite doors. Both inner and outer, same with the hood, fenders and deck lid. The only body part that is steel is the rear quarters and of course the floors.

Yep!! You can also use corvett seats in any f-body (seen it done). As soon as I get more cosmetic mods done, I hope to be able to afford some nice T/A black ebony leather seats for my camaro. Cheapiest I've seen em on ebay is about $500+,... used :(.

I think the camaro has a nicer smoother touch than the Ws6. The WS6 has a agressive look to it, but I still like the SS. nicer interior and door panels on the Ws6.
About the seats my cousin owns a 99 Ws6 and I think his leather seats are so much more ugly than my SS leather seats. The shape of the ws6 seats are like a sedan look, specially the head reast.

Yep! I need to find that car again. It was a convertable white (I think) T/A and he put Corvett seats in the front and rear (yes even in the rear). Coolest seat mod I've seen yet!

Hmmm...
How does he put the seats in the back if vetts are only 2 seaters?
Does he put normal fronts on the back?

I think the camaro has better lines . It looks a little smoother. I think that the trans am with the SLP firehawk hood is the best looking hood of the bunch though, also like the TA wing best.

the ws6 definitely is more agressive, but i still am happier with the camaro. and my 02 SS leather seats are very comfortable. not quite as comfortable as my dad's c5, but i haven't found a car yet that i liked more than these two.
in the end, it all comes down to what you like, and if you like them about equally, what you can find as far as price and miles go.
good luck

That's one of the main reasons I got my Hawk. Dual scoops, but more refined looking than the WS-6 hood. Plus the heat extractors, which I don't really believe do much, but look cool.

They should for the fronts. As for the rears, you might have to drill the railings in or something to get them to fit. I need to find the guy who did it and ask him.

I believe my Camaro also has composit everything except the rear quarter panels, the front fenders, and of course the floor. The rear hatch should be metal as well.

I think the leather seats in my 01 SS are quite comfy. I dunno what y'all are talking about.
Corvette seats would be sweet though. Except for that whole Corvette logo on the headrest thing.

I like the ws6 better because it has that mean look to it like its ready to eat anything on the road.

Well when they were new they were "ok". After about 20, 000 miles I got jammed in the lower back where the foam or what ever got flattened or something. Now, no jokes about my fat butt.........LOL I am 6'3 220.
I took it back to dealer they "fixed" it was okay till recently again. Also Dealer replaced the Leather Seat back 3 times under warranty for wearing thru. Thats back again, but out of warranty.
So.........seats are fine new. For me, they are lousey at the moment.

Oh...
I'm only 5'9" and 185. So I guess I might be a little less wearing on my seats than yourself.
