Throttle Body Velocity Stack?

I was going through Jegs magazine and saw on pg. 216 this velocity stack and it says that it reshapes the factory throttle body boosting air flow. It eliminates the need for ported throttle bodies and says it provides 13 rwhp on C5 vettes. I haven't seen anyone using this or talking about it for that matter. Does anyone know if this is legit or if it's a waste of money? It only retails for $51.99 so if it works it would seem like an extremely cheap and effective way of picking up a decent chunk of hp.

I would say no, just get a ported t.b. and don't mess with a gimmick insert to "smooth the air". If you think about it you would be sticking something inside actually making the area smaller of your 75mm opening.

save your money for a ported and polished TB. the stack is a waste of money and reduces the size of the TB...
