I've heard lots of conflicting info on this topic and I really need it clarified. I live in Chicago and do a lot of highway driving, so I see all types of driving conditions. When I'm in the city or in a lot of stop and go traffic I keep it in Drive. When I get on the highway I shift into Overdrive around 45 and keep it in overdrive till I'm back into the city. Is this bad on the trans in any way or is it the right thing to do. I've been told sometimes to always drive in overdrive. Which is better for your trans? I also have a 3500 stall does that make a difference at all? Let me know...

I recommend keeping it on OD unless there are a lot of hills and the like which causes your tranny to shift up/down too often.

You should keep it in OD...your wallet will thank you.

it's good to keep it in od we you are on the highway, long drives because it saves gas like ANTHRACIS said but leave it in drive on hills and in city traffic
:iagree:
