Torque converter trouble

Im planning on getting a 2500-2600 stall with preferably a TCI....now i was looking at them and i was getting prices from 150-1000$!!!Whats the difference in the cheap ones and more "over-Priced" items, how much does it normally cost to get a stall like im wanting???? Thanks!!

i was priced at some where around 500-700 $ i think vigilante cost lil more and tci but this is where you want a good brand soo just shop around and see. and install can go from 300-700 depending on shop

another thing to look into is going a lil higher on your stall. youll be fine at first but want more. ask what others like to get idea. i wouldnt go under 3000

I paid $500 for my Fuddle 3800. It's apparently rated to 900 ft/lbs of torque so I have a bit of room to grow.

Alright thanks for all the info guys!! Now i just gotta decide on 9-11" What would be the different applications for these, i would just be adding the converter to the stock transmission...btw i have an A4, thanks!!

anything less than a 3000 rpm stall is a waste

Going under the assumption that the converter stalls at the same RPM, the 9" converter will generate more heat than the 11" due to its smaller size, it rotates faster. A transmission cooler is a must, and a deeper trans pan would not hurt either.

also to add a chift kit really comliements the TC and not reallllly neaded but also if some extra cash and want optimia performance get a tune for the TC, and a cooler, but add the existing cooler to the stock one use both
