I work at Year One and we offer ram air hoods for the T/A's. The part # is sc22 and the cost is $998.00 plus freight. It normally takes about 2-3 weeks to get one.

Hey big D I have A year one catalog. Here it says sc22 is 1,128 bucks. Maybe that cost is after freight? Do you know who builds these hoods for Y1

Our prices on the hood has went down since the catalog was printed. That hood is by suncoast creations and we also have one by ASCD # TA700 for $932.00 plus freight. It is normally about $140.00 or so to ship.

Howdy yall, im new here and i just recently purchased a 2001 Trans AM in burgundy with an LS1 but its not the WS6. Its auto and it only had 7 grand on the clock. It came with a Flowmaster muffler, and ive been looking into buying the ram air hood, but the only place i can find 'em is in ramairhood.com and it goes for 1100 bucks already painted, with the decals and the air box to make it functional. Is this a good buyy, and can someone please tell me the difference in the air box from a non ws6 air box to the ws6 one? Thanks, Yulian

I bought it from SLPonline and the fit is ok but the finish was kinda rough... from what i understand most aftermarket hoods are a little rough so I dont know if mine was better or worse.... I do LOVE it though, I always get compliments!

I got mine 3 months after I bought my T/A in '98 from Thunder Racing (made by ASCD). The staff was friendly, fit and quality was great, and it still looks AWESOME! [/I]:)

The Thunder Racing/ASCD WS6 hood also use's all the factory hardware, hinges, latches, airbox, etc., and is almost a perfect copy of the GM piece. The body shop guys that put it on and painted it commented on the good quality and workmanship of it. It will work with the regular T/A airbox, the difference being the WS6 box is taller at the intake opening to mate with the air opening slot in the underside front of the hood. I know the SunCoast hood is slightly different in the nostril area, and uses a slightly different airbox setup. Hope this helps! :)
