I was with my Girlfriedns cousin, who has a 91 LX 5.0 mustang turbo, 62mm trim, just got a stand alone fuel managment system and dynoed at 622rwhp, he was showing me the car and some kid in a 99 GT pulls up ask him what hes got, he says its a 351 stroker with heads and cams. We pull out from Walmart and get a light. The light turns green and we both launch, our cars tires werent prestaged so he spins is tires through first with new rubber goin into second it grips HArd and we def got some front wheel lift and pulled 3 cars instantly and at about 130 had around 10-15 cars on the kid.

His dad has a 70 chevelle with a 496ci big block and a 400 direct port nitrous shot lol. Hes actually selling the motor and tranny out of the mustang for 8,000 if anyone is interested, all forged internals triple copper head gaskets intercooler waste gate. Hes goin with a 398 with a 101mm trim turbo lol. Its gonna be a 1000+hp car.

The motor forsale is a 302, forged internals, Cammed with heads it ran a 12.7 before the turbo and made 352rwhp. Turbonetics turbo 62trim, 44 wastegate bigger injectors and fuel pump. The headgaskets have a warrenty if they blow the next set is free, triple copper. Made 622rwhp at 14psi. 9 to 1 compression on a basic tune, which emans they fax you a tune so the car runs good but not as good as a dyno tune. Probably make 635rwhp with a tune.

i myself wouldnt do it here in cali just because of the smog laws, i guess being from a different state,i dismiss late model cars with carbs or older engines because i know some cop would probably pull whoever has it over and give them a ticket for a meeting with the state referee. if i had a 99 i would rather go with a cobra engine thats all.

03 04 cobras are fast, only because the have a S/C, the mach 1 is the same motor with higher compression and i can take those so dont talk up the cobra like its some gift from god. The are fast cars but without the S/C your nothing, if the LS1 came S/C with lower compression it would walk a cobra stock for stock. When it all comes down to it if your talking what the motors can do then the ls1 being a 350 can make more power than your 4.6. But stock for stock yes you are faster. That doesnt make you any less of a Douche bag.

All were saying is for a supercharged v8 it still isnt makking that much power. If i were to put 6psi on my car it would make 440 right there. Or how about the ls7 makes 505 and you new cobra motor with a 5.3liter S/C only making 500. Ford just makes shitty motors.

Now GM is superchargeing the vette and making 150 more hp than fords superchaged v8.

Between the viper and the vette ford cant keep up.

Look at what the Supra guys do with 3.0 LITERS and ONLY 6 Cylinders. Massive displacement isnt always needed. You act like the 346 cubic inch LS1 is a big engine,its only 5.7 liters! does that make my 68' Galaxie better because its got a 533cid stroker (@700HP, what is that, like an 8.7?)? Between the horid grammar/spelling and the general (virtually complete) ignorance in this thread, it is really hard to follow what is going on here. But lets give it a try....

1) Chances of a 99 GT street car having a "stroked 351" are virtually nil.
2) The 302 (5.0) and 4.6 modular can both be stroked. They simply can't be stroked to make 351 cid.
3) Mr T/A....I highly recommend edumacating yourself on the N/A 4V - beyond what you read from other teenagers on this Forum. It may be enlightening (then again, I've been wrong before).
4) "If" is just like a dyno, in that it doesn't go down the street, nor down the track. "If" is for your high school locker room discussions.
5) GM *may* indeed supercharge a version of the LSx to put in the Vette. If they do, it is quite likely that it will make more HP than the current 330 cid blown modular in the GT500. Of course, when/if that happens, we have no idea what Ford will up the HP to. Perhaps you do? Even so, it doesn't help make your car any faster, nor your cousin's girlfriend's wife's brother's mom's car look any better.
6) The car you rode in didn't pull the front tires - on the street - when it went into 2nd gear (unless it is a low-rider with hydraulic shocks, bouncing up and down the road....which is possible). I'm sure you thought it did, though.
7) What does "tires werent prestaged" mean? Did that stoplight have staging beams?
8) 12.7 with 352 RWHP in a fox body is pitiful.
9) Looks are subjective (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/subjective) - completely and totally subjective.
10) And finally, Mr Guru, it must really suck to be outrun by cars with such "shitty motors".

Not stupid at all. A stand alone fuel management system (more correctly known as an Engine Management System) completely replaces the stock EFI in a car (including the computer, wiring harness, sensors, etc). They are typically quite expensive and rather difficult to setup, but allow much more flexibility for tuning, modifications, etc. These types of setups are much more common on race cars than street cars.

Now there are Fuel Management Systems that piggy-back off the stock EFI, but they are not really "stand alone". For example, the "FMU" (Fuel Management Unit) was a big deal about 10-15 years ago when centrifugal blowers were all the rage in Mustangland.

"Full bolt-on" n/a Cobras have run as quick as mid 11s. Mild bolt-on, DR'd Cobras quite often go mid 12s, and some have gone into the low 12s - even with the IRS.

First off, the Mach 1 will run neck and neck w/ your car given equal mods and a good driver so there goes your S/C theory. Next off, your motor won't safely handle anything above 7 psi w/ the 11/1 compression so why are you talking smack to the Cobra like you can slap a blower on your car?

Next, the Cobra was not produced to compete w/ the Z06. It was probably compiled to compete w/ the Vette though. I just fail to see how you can bash a car that can go 10s and still maintain the DD aspect and not blow up. I'm far from a fan of the GT's or Mustangs for that matter but the Cobras are certainly bad ass cars. Don't use the S/C to hide behind. Just give respect where respect is due so you don't sound like the smartest kid with down syndrome all the time.....

381? 383 perhaps... Never heard of anyone stopping at a 381 bore? 224/230 sounds about right though, very typical. I'm running a 224/236 right now with lots of lift. Waiting to break or burn something..... We'll see, its still very fresh.

Yes, the shorties are a bitch. I had borlas on before my current long tubes. The long tubes were almost as bad though w/ all the BS I had to pull of to get them in.

If you had your combo right, that car was more than quick. A properly done 383 will go low 12s depending on your head combo. My buddy has gone 11.20s on a 200 shot w/ his 383 combo/old. New combo has gone 12.0s on just motor. We'll see what the new setup does at SSHS7 this Nov.

it was pretty quick, i annihalated my friends LT1 camaro pretty bad with it, i raced my bros 93 GT with H/I/C and we ran dead even and he used to trap109-111 with it but then it got stolen and stripped (the GT). I sold it before taking it to the track though.

i know youre gonna laugh but i sold it because it burned down,i think it was an electrical fire (and it only had 600 mileson it!) but i never found out,didnt really care though i was just happy i got out with my life! i dont know who he is but i know he was a collector from the north bay i think and had an SS and didnt want to put miles on it but wanted my engine,and all the parts on the car (it had new eaton posi and axles as well as Impala wheels).my car was a 9c1 so it wasnt worth much. I sold it for $3000, yes i lost a lil money on it but i bought my 68 Galaxie for $2400 with a much bigger engine and much bigger plans and no smog worries :) maybe youll find him on the Impala board,ask around and see if anybody bought a burnt 9c1 from some kid (i think it was in 2002-2003) in the bay area,i think i met that dude on that board.

Its a lot harder to get them to run low 13s then you think bud... I'm almost 8 deep in my car with parts on my car and parts I've went through. If I were to give you the already proven formula and a list of parts to buy, sure you can run a 13.9 in the winter for about 2 grand, maybe. To be in the 13s consistently though you're lookin 4 grand or better. It aint that easy without strippin em....

At a F-body car show in WI this weekend, went to get some food with this guy he had a 99 SS wit ha 76mm hybrid turbo, makeing a little over 700rwhp with 10 to 1 comp and 15psi. He is setting up meth injection and upping the boost with that to 20psi a 10 to 1 comp v8 with 20psi going through it should make some decent numbers lol.

I have had multiple LS1 cars, I joined this site when I had a LS1 TA and ocassionally like to comment on it still. I believe my opinion is valid on any Sports car site. Since I have had all differant kinds of vehicles. I know whta I am talking about or I do not comment.

I am not pro Ford, I am not pro Chevy, I am pro "nice cars"

Dont get me wrong i love the 03+ Cobras, i recently test drove a orange 04 wit h17k miles and it made 447rwhp it was a blast, i dotn really like the look all that much they are fun cars. Its just when i look at my car i see more potential in my own head. Not to mention its been my dream car since i was 14. I dont like mustangs because they generally dont make the kinda power i look for. I jsut want power if your stang can do it i like it if it cant which most i know cant i just make fun of those.
