so I'm with my budy...in my Z28...going home after grabbing a bite to eat... in a very crowded Highway I find a Porsche Cayman S...that's going pretty quick...so I get next to him and stomp on it... and get no reaction... then a few mins later... he starts following me and then passes me... so I start following him...then he flogs it...and I do to...and to my surprise he wasn't pulling on me at all...I was infact catching him...inch by inch...slowly but surely... :spit:... I couldn't believe that I was catching him...and neither could my friend...then we get to another stretch where it's more open...and we're able to make it to 100+mph... and let me tell you... I was proud of my Muscle:flex: car... catching up to that Overpriced NaziMobile:ar:...

later we got to a traffic light and it looked like he wanted to U-turn and go at it...but he changed his mind last minute and went into some housing area...:dot:

Well that's my story...it was fun...and at least made me be able to relax and feel good after a horrible past week... :(

Calling a German Car a Nazimobile is about as smart as calling an American Car a Slavemobile.

Nazi's no longer rule Germany, and Slavery no longer exsist in USA.

Its funny you posted this, I raced a Cayman S a couple weeks ago. My car is pretty much stock, and for most of the race, it was dead even. I edged him by a little bit close to 100, but nothing to brag about.

I was simply proud I stayed with and edged out a $60,000 car. From what I read on the Porsche website, the Cayman S is a mid to high 13 second car in stock form.

Not really. In fact, I am unaware of any slaveowner contracting and building automobiles. However, I am aware of Nazi involvement in Volkswagen (which Hitler modeled after Ford) and Daimler Benz's involvement in tank development and military vehicles for Nazi Germany in WWII.

I ran a short race with a Cayman S once and put 2 cars on him from the time I went 5mph to about 50ish. I didn't think I was going to do that as easy as I did. They guy was pissed about it too.

I've seen the dude twice again this week...but I haven't been in my car... soooooooo... as soon as I run into him in my car... Imma beat some sense into that Porsche.....:tap:

you know... making this post... reminded me of a few months after I got my car... it was Last Summer...and I'm driving to my College...and...I see this brand new 911... the Base model... and I try reving at him...and such... and the dushe bag looks over and laughs at me...and then changes lane and eventually speeds up and turns off... ever since then...I've always had a thing about wanting to beat a Porsche...

any of you guys ever had such an experience with a OverPriced Luxo-SporstCar owner?

In my experience, they tend to be past the "revving" bullshit that most younger people like to do. I saw a Lamborghini on the freeway last weekend. He was doing 60 mph and minding his own business. I've seen Vipers, Vettes, and Ferrari's do the same.

The truth is, when you have a bad ass car that can beat 99.9% of the cars of the road, you don't feel a need to call out other vehicles.

yeah...but wouldn't it be fun beating kids who think they can take you... and also... what if next to the Lambo is a kid in a Turbo LS1 just itching to kill a Bull...

Oh, I'd most definitely take it. After that Cayman S called me out (he initiated the race) I wanted more of that rush. That's why LT's and a custom tune are being done this weekend. Then it will be followed by a Moser 9" and a nasty cam

I'm gonna go LOW...but not slow...with some Eibachs...and such... as my next mod... cause I'm trying to mix in...every sort of MOD at the same time... Performance/Looks/handling...

I bought this car with Hotchkis springs and 18" Z06 rims on it and I hate it. The ride sucks, the larger rims create a harsh ride, and I scrape over everything.

I want to put the stock springs back on it, some TT2's, and some nice sticky tires lol.

LOL... I'd love some Z06 rims... and I'm only gonna lower it by 1inch... so it wont be that bad... I have on my Z28... TRANS AM... rims... cause that's the way I bought it...with a Set of V6 springs in the back...(good for traction off the line...not good for anything else)... in the end...I want the car to handle with the best of them...and later on... be amonst the fastest of Puerto Rico...(a long term proyect... definetly)

I think most Porsches are over-rated, though there are some quick ones.
And since you guys are talking about wheels/suspension, I have 17in ZO6 wheels, and I want to get some Koni SA shocks for performance, but I think I'll keep stock springs, I don't want to lower it any. I think the ride should still be comfortable like that.

yeah...it should remain comfy for daily driving...I'm changing my springs because I have to... not because I want to...replacement Stockers here for the rear only cost $160 each... I can get the whole Eibach kit for under $250....for all 4 corners

sounds pretty good... around here there's barely any straight road(that's not Highway) ...so I'll enjoy the turns more...

Not to mention i dont know if you looked under your hood and saw how far back our motors are giving a low center of gravity already, lowering make the ride a little more bumpy but alot more grip and go on turns and coming off turns.

I'm young still... the Bumpiness will only be a massage... :hmm: when I get older I'll start to worry about it...hehe... btw... I'm gonna use KYB's with them for a while... Will they mess up the springs at all?...I mean everyone has told me to use Koni's with the new springs...

I'm running KYB AGX shocks with the pro-kit and I don't have any problem with them. I also keep my tires on the firm side so the big cracks and bumps in the road can be a little rough, but I think the ride is smooth on normal roads. It rides smoother than my 79 Vette that's stock.

I went heads up against a carrera coming out of a toll booth, kinda felt like sonny at the toll booth from godfather after that:ar::faint:

I was tailing him for awhile, but the guy started weaving thru traffic like a maniac, so I let him go.

Yes it's true, when your spending money on a car like that, you're expecting results. Where as with our cars, we have to work our way up there.

It's remarkable that a straight six can produce around 239hp, and with the turbo all wheel drive, boom! It's a shame you gotta dip into the pocket book for that much.

Once I finish all my mods, my car would gladly eat that carrera for brekfast, but for now, my car has to stare at the carrera insignia.

I tried to call out a 1992 or so Ferrari F355, to no avail. It would have been a good race, but he would've ended up the victor. I think that another reason that those guys tend to avoid races is they know that some of the people who want to race them have a trick or two up their sleeve. And who wants to be seen in their $100,000+ exotic getting flogged by a sub-50,000 or better yet, sub-30000 dollar "common" domestic?!?!

another thing that's funny to point out with these types of imports is how delicate they are. My buddy had a porshe from the 80s, thing was nice, but it seemed like every week there was a problem with it. He was glad to switch to a suburu wrx. A company like porshe as well as their consumers are looking for fast cars that are engineered well, with that "historic pedigree" and meanwhile in the long term you don't get a car that is practical and dependable. In America you still get many problems on cars (read the 70's vega), but deep inside the goal is to run strong, and run long.:Patriot::Patriot: and you know what if a camaro selling for 20,000 new can run neck and neck with a ferrari 100,000 that is the goal all along.:Patriot:
