Alright I have a 94 Trans Am with Mac mid-length headers and a Magnaflow Exhaust. I also have some kind of off road pipe that was on the car when I bought it. It's not an ORY pipe either because I still have my one cat. Anyway I emailed Mac about it because I still have the part number that was on the receipt and they said somthing about a pipe too. So like I was saying I want to cut out my cat because my car is too quiet at idle for me. I know I'll need O2 simulators so I don't throw a code but do I need anything else? Also about howmuch will the sound of my car improve from cutting out my cat?

O2 sims should be it. I know when I went to an ORY and LTs my car got a little louder at idle. Plus now at WOT it just screams. Cut that cat out, and enjoy the noise. :D

Can you first explain how your cat got caught in your exhaust? Have you tried to lure it out with treats first? I'd be worried about accidently cutting the cat while trying to remove it.

When I put my headers on I discovered not one, but TWO cats! I wound up just unbolting the exhaust, putting on the LTs and ORY. I just left the pipes with the cats outside overnight with a can of tuna. I figured the best bet would be to let the cats come out at their leisure. :D

I just cut my cats off, and had a new pipe on the drivers side made, love the sound now, it is barly louder on the highway, but when acceleration it has a wicked tone around 2400 rpm. I love it, but I am still getting a new muffler for it tommorow

Where can you buy O2 simulators? How do you "gut" a catalytic converter?

That is what I want to do on my 00 SS. I don't want to spend the money on a new y-pipe for manifolds cause I will be running long tubes. So I just want the sound. How much did it cost to get the new pipe bent and the cat cut off with the 02 sims.
