bit of a problem with my 2002 ss (aussie) running a 228/230 110 cam. running about 27 degrees of timing with no knock retard.(M6) on full throttle gear changes, when u mash the throttle back down im getting severe knock for a split second. im thinking the burst knock table needs changing but im unsure of the values in the table or even if its the one i should be looking at. can anyone shed some light on this? (hptuners)

Hey pardner....sounds like your tables are a tad off....There are a few tuners around here....of course we are all upside down...so bear with them:)
Are you tuning with a handheld?
gday sarge. nah, im tuning with a laptop. am i right in looking at the burst knock?

I have been fighting a knock for a while now in my LS1 and my garage has informed me that he has received NUMEROUS tech letters stating the gas affects the knock. I have poured 91 (only thing available in Phx AZ) the entire life of the vehicle, and I am told now that TECHRON is the only stuff that should be run thru the motor. Heartell the additives affect the combustion and fuel sys. We'll find out here in the next tank or two.... try cleaning the fuel system.
cheers for the reply. i have cleaned my injectors and only run 98 octane fuel (this is available at most servos over here.) not getting any knock on a wot pull, only right after a gear change. got me stumped.

hey bpm. If you have a scanner at home setup a pid to log for o2 voltages, burst knock and real knock and do a scan of when your getting knock.
i was having trouble when going WOT in my vy ss and it was the PE ENRITCHMENT rate set to low which was making the engine run lean and knock. I use hptuners and i set it to the maximum of 4 and its been ok since then.
It could also be burst knock as well and you might have to desensitise them alittle but if best to do a scan and go from there
